Reporting to the Vice President Global Communications & Creative Services, this position is responsible for translating the company's strategic business objectives into creative strategies and design solutions for digital platforms, primarily focused on social media and video formats. The digital director spearheads successful creative campaigns, determining the optimum ways to visually communicate Jacobs' brand Identity and key messaging.

Overall objectives of this role are to:

• Provide creative vision and strategic direction for the planning, execution and roll-out of key company communication initiatives designed to support the business objectives and strategy on digital platforms.

• Develop creative programs and solutions that help to strengthen the internal and external communications of the company. Ensure the digital solutions reinforce clarity, credibility and consistency in messaging.

• Provide creative strategy and direction to Jacobs' corporate departments as they communicate and rollout key corporate strategies and programs, for example: BeyondZero, Sustainability, Health and Wellness, Ethics and Integrity, Recruiting, Benefits, Executive, etc.

• Ensure creative strategies are aligned with the company's overall business strategy and priorities and with corporate policies and procedures.

• Drive, reinforce and maintain the company brand identity on digital platforms. Provide leadership and support on brand standards to regions, sales, and corporate departments.

Specific duties include:

• Work with the organization and global communications & creative services team members to develop and execute specific & targeted marketing communications projects/initiatives - both internal and external - on digital platforms, primarily video and social media-focused areas.

• Lead the development of high-level concepts and establish creative direction/solutions for an assigned program or initiative; working with internal and external customers, project sponsors and owners to understand project/customer needs. Lead creative brainstorming sessions and conceptualizing of ideas; pitch designs; assign staff, and lead execution of the creative solutions as appropriate. Typical projects and programs may include:

o corporate departments' communications programs/tools;

o website design/structure development;

o external corporate profiling opportunities - example: the annual and sustainability reports, marketing materials, advertising, recruitment programs, event concepts/ creatives, and other external activities;

o intranet design/structure development;

o development of/guidance for major internal marketing/sales resources, example: brand identity, project library, image/media archive, image library;

o guidance for regional marketing and communications initiatives.

• Supervise budget and staff including training & development, as required. Recruit, supervise and inspire internal design/creative services staff. Recruit and supervise external vendors: graphic designers, copywriters, photographers, printers and freelancers; and work with internal customers to ensure needs are met. Negotiate with vendors to determine what services will be performed.

• Manage multiple projects from concept through completion, ensuring each project is delivered in a timely manner/to schedule and within budget.

• Provide quality control over concepts, projects, and production.

• Be a "Brand Champion" - establish, maintain and provide guidance on brand identity and guidelines. Support clear, consistent brand positioning throughout the organization. Provide the corporate departments, sales and regions with guidance, as required, in maintaining brand alignment, particularly on digital platforms.

• Establish and maintain key relationships with internal stakeholders to help reinforce marketing and communications best practices.

Job Requirements /Skills

• Thorough working knowledge executing high-profile communications initiatives, including: creative process, graphic fundamentals, image optimization, typography, layouts, print/media production, brand development, and must have the ability to storyboard or translate ideas.

• Knowledge of different communications media for integrated campaigns.

• Critical and practical thinker. Ability to lead projects from concept to completion. Strong decision-maker, able to make evaluative judgments.

• Skilled in persuasion and presentation. Active listener, ability to interact confidently with executive leadership, vendors, external organizations and client contacts.

• Ability to collaborate with diverse employees at all levels of the organization, from various cultures located around the world.

• Experience with software such as Quark, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Flash.

• Experience handling sensitive and confidential issues.

• Ability to manage teams and schedule work assignments, and provide training and development guidance for staff members; and manage budgetary requirements.

• Bachelor's degree and/or post-graduate qualification in fine arts, art, design or a related field of study.

• Minimum twelve years of creative direction experience, with at least six years management experience.

• Knowledge of the engineering, architecture, or construction industry is preferred.
