We currently have an opportunity for a Principal Process Engineer within our UK Process & Technology team based in (Reading) Winnersh. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

The Principal Process Engineer provides process design and technology know-how in the areas of Refining, Petrochemicals and specifically Aromatics. He is also expected to act as a Lead Engineer when assigned by the Process Group Manager.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • To perform the timely execution of the design within his scope of responsibility assigned to him by the Process Manager, Process Group Manager or Chief Engineer on a specific proposal, study or project.
  • To provide expert review of documents and drawings generated by others, whether process technology licensor, FEED Contractor or fellow Jacobs colleagues
  • To participate in design reviews, eg P&ID, model reviews.

Experience/Training

  • Chemical Engineering Degree
  • Chartered Engineer
  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Experience in Aromatics plant design is essential.
  • Experience in petrochemicals, refining, oil and gas desirable.
  • FEED experience is desirable
  • Experience in performing Process Design Calculations and developing drawings and specifications.
  • Simulation and modelling experience desirable
  • Significant prior experience gained at Senior or Principal level
