Job Description
Oil & gas exploration within Total is relying on seismic and non-seismic data. Gravity and magnetic data have an impact in a variety of environments such as rifts and basins, carbonate platforms, subsalt or when volcanics are present. Depth estimation techniques are tools commonly used on grid or line formats to try to estimate depth of magnetic or gravimetric sources and participate in derisking geological scenarios.

The internship objectives are to:

  • Evaluate the responses of various estimation techniques on synthetic models representing real scenarios.
  • Improve our understanding and quality control of the depth estimation results.
  • Compare expected responses with real dataset.
  • Develop a methodology based on the work above.
