The Electrical Safety Lead (ESL) is the country based lead of ECC (Energy Control Coordinator), mentioned in the Vestas Standard for Control of Hazardous Energy. The function of ESL is defined in the BU-specific Vestas Standard for Electrical Safety EMEA which is based on EN 50110. The ESL obtains responsibility of the electrical installations of one or more countries and leads - in his or her regions - the local operative installation responsible persons, which are in the function of ECC. We are now looking to fill the role of ESL in Vestas Finland. The ESL in Finland reports to the Area Manager in Finland with a close functional cooperation with the ESL in Sweden. The role of ESL lies in the Vestas Service Business Unit but it is required that the chosen person also supports the Construction Business Unit. A successful candidate not only fills the technical requirements described below to enable him/her but also has the leadership qualities needed to make an impact. The Electrical Safety Lead (ESL) has additional duties outlined in the Vestas Standard For Electrical Safety EMEA. The function includes only operative electrical works in wind turbines and responsibilities for the electrical installation of wind turbines. It doesn't include responsibilities for other tools, bureau equipment or facilities.

Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Single point of contact to Finnish ECCs with competences to give professional electrical directives
  • Works under instruction freedom from line management in his or her responsibility
  • Decision competences for safe operation of WTG under his or her responsibility as installation responsible person
  • Identification of training needs for his or her ECCs to ensure personally competence development
  • Approval and nomination of selected persons for inspections/testing and HV operation
  • Collaboration for nomination of electrical skilled persons
  • Approval and release of trainings under his or her responsibility with electrical relevance
  • Developments or support of programs to ensure safe operations and works in WTG
  • Promotes and acts as the ambassador for the Vestas Electrical Safety Program EMEA
  • Administers the Electrical Safety Program in collaboration with the other stakeholders
  • Supports the documentation and record keeping as well as performance indicators
  • Subject matter expert for Electrical Safety on leading level
  • Determination of protective measures and equipment
  • Approval of new tools and equipment, e. g. measurement devices
  • Operations manager - Contacts with subcontractors, network representatives and Vestas technicians
  • TUKES - Responsible for electricity licences towards the authorities
  • Establish "switching programs" for high voltage work, etc.

Qualifications

  • Certified Electrician on EQF Level 5
  • 5 years relevant experience and familiar with local standards EN50110, VDE 0105-100, BGV A3, TRBS
  • S1 Qualified
  • The successful candidate has a deep knowledge of relevant Finnish laws and standards
  • Knowledge of electrical installation engineering standards and machine directives
  • Experience in reading and understanding laws and standards, safety legislation
  • Basic knowledge of turbine technology or similar technical knowledge
  • Strong communication skills in Finnish and English, both written and spoken

Additional information
Primary work location is Vasa. Estimated travelling will be one week per month.
