Job description
SENIOR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
Main Accountabilities:
• Project Management of small and medium sized IT Infrastructure projects. Scope of
projects can be regional or local.
• Support and maintain the regional infrastructure.
• Design and implement the IT Architecture to support the local business needs.
• Support and maintain the local network.
• Keep abreast of new technology and changes in industry standards.
• Ensure alignment with group IT Infrastructure and technology standards for regional / local
solutions.
• Ensure the regional / local IT Infrastructure and services that make up the local Network,
meets the relevant Group IT Security and Group Security standards and policies.
• Assess options and present recommendations for IT Infrastructure Solutions to meet business
requirements.
• Design and deploy new site offices insfrastructure and services allowing for business
requirements
• Install, support and maintain the Local Server environment both Physical and Virtual.
• Support and maintain Engineering Applications and business applications solutions from the
Desktop to the servers
• Liaise with suppliers to deliver value for money solutions.
• Manage technical resources sourced from Vendors or Partners when required to implement or
upgrade to new technology.
• Support Infrastructure and IT services needed to support other legal entities hosted locally.
• Provide 3rd Level Problem management of problems and incidents escalated from local and
regional IT Service Desk.
• Develop and maintain IT procedures and documentation.
• Works in acoordance to Group GOPS, Guidelines and Standards and Local IT Policies and
Procedures to keep line with agreed service agreements. E.g. Use of Change Control.
• Demonstrate a commitment to self-education through "on the job" learning and via Technical
Manuals etc.
• Contribute to the local internal control exercise if required by the local IT Manager.
