Essential Responsibilities



Job Summary:


The M&D CyberSecurity Engineer is responsible for managing security infrastructure and posture of GE's Monitoring & Diagnostic platform. This role will be the point of contact for external and internal customers on any RTS (readiness-to-serve) or Sustaining issues related to CyberSecurity, network security, and regulatory compliance. This includes proactively putting audit and maintenance procedures in place to support the security strategy, supporting external and internal customers with queries, audit support, design options, etc.


Essential Functions:
  • Represent GE and M&D in CyberSecurity in front of customers and external regulatory entities
  • Be point of contact for external and internal customers for any issues related to CyberSecurity, network security, and regulatory compliance.
  • This includes prioritizing customer enquiries, providing audit support, troubleshoot break-fix issues in areas related to network components and security, presenting design options and solutions to solve issues, etc.
  • Operationalize proactive measures to support security strategy, such as quarterly access audit, security log monitoring, review corporate firewall polices, etc.
  • Provide effective solutions for operational support teams to function while maintaining security and compliance standards.
  • Implement Enterprise systems management best practices and standards to integrate security controls and define processes and procedures to measure and maintain them.
  • Research and evaluate new products, technologies, and regulations, and keep abreast of emerging industry trends
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Promote a culture of security awareness



Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, networking, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network security.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

Desired Characteristics



  • Variety of network security systems such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, switches and routers, and network scanning tools.
  • Active Directory, Malware and Windows Patching.
  • Compliance framework and controls such as NIST.
  • Working experience with NERC CIP is a plus.
  • IT governance including process design and audit to ensure standards and controls are appropriately applied and maintained in the course of daily operations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and critical thinking Skills.
  • Effective communication skills - written & verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills;
    Self-starter with multi-tasking abilities
    Capable of switching between tasks based on priority.
  • Experience working in a global environment.
