The Structural TEKLA Designer is part of the engineering organization. He manages and coordinates the engineering work relating to the discipline.

Essential Responsibilities

Structural TEKLA Designer has to provide the following contribution to a successful management of the project results by:
  • Being familiar with the RfQ / EPC contract as it relates to his/her discipline
  • Providing experience in optimizing steel structures design (aggressive and competitive approach)
  • Contributing to develop and improve standard 3D structural design by Tekla
  • Training and mentoring new comers about 3D modeling/design by Tekla according good plant engineering practices and according EPC approach.
  • Providing the planned engineering documents/deliverables on time with the proper quality and complying EHS best practices the implementation of workflows, procedures, company specifications and standards as well as engineering tools that
  • Ensuring accurate tender estimates, efficient engineering work as well as excellent design and quality results
  • Implementation of return of experience and technical recommendation the optimization of scope and division of work considering RFQ / contract, quality and cost the ownership for the quality of his discipline's tender estimates regarding completeness, accuracy, competitiveness and consideration of the requirements of the relevant RFQ
  • Assuring functional, reliable and cost competitive design fulfilling the contract requirement the contribution to the results of his discipline in projects regarding EHS, quality, schedule and cost the continuous improvement by implementing lessons learnt from executed projects
  • Sharing resources and knowledge with other GE locations/teams. Working in dispersed teams



Qualifications/Requirements



  • High school diploma; associated degree preferred
  • Technical Trainings about 3D Design by TEKLA required
  • Strong and proven professional experience in the Structural Steel design
  • Consistent professional experience in engineering / design of Steel Structures for Plants (i.e. Power, Oil&Gas, Chemical, I&S, WtE, Industrial Plant) on EPC contracts basis.
  • Proven professional experience 3D Steel Stucture Design (by TEKLA)
  • Ability to create Custom Components by TEKLA
  • Availabity to accept assignment on site, abroad up to 6 months.
  • Italian Fluency
  • English knowledge
  • EU Work permit



Desired Characteristics

  • Strong professional experience within flue gas treatment plants
  • Professional experience 3D Modelling (by PDS / PDMS)
