Engineer Wind Turbine Performance Upgrade Products
Technology & Service Solutions >> Rotor, Tower & Control >>Aero, Acoustics and Options

The Aero, Acoustic and Options Engineering team within the Rotor, Tower and Control department of Vestas TSS division is responsible for the delivery of new and innovative products and technology that support and increase the performance of the base wind turbine and for supporting in service products.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of assigned product(s) from within the Performance Upgrade Product portfolio (Root Vortex Generators, Gurney Flaps, Serrated Trail Edge and Blade Tip Extensions)
  • Robust engineering to ensure 100% reliable and performing products over the 20 year design life
  • Defining the performance requirements/characteristics and monitoring infield performance for the performance upgrade products
  • Driving current performance upgrade product(s) across entire wind turbine product portfolio as appropriate (ownership of the relevant business cases)
  • Owning and improving the current performance upgrade products
  • Participating in the creation of the technology strategy for future performance upgrade products
  • Providing pro-active and reactive repair solutions for damaged systems
  • Experience/ Participation in developing and integrating components onto structures.
  • Design and development capabilities in mechanical systems.
  • Experience in developing composite and plastic products across value chain.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant Master's or Bachelor's degree (Prefer Mechanical and Aeronautical engineering)
  • Min. 8 Years working experience which include 4 years of relevant work experience with proven technical leadership of complex multi-disciplinary projects.

Competencies:

  • Experience in developing composite and plastic products across value chain
  • Self-motivated with outstanding interpersonal skills with both internal and external teams
  • Experience in improving performance of wind turbine by using Root Vortex Generators, Gurney Flaps,Serrated Trail Edge, Blade Tip Extensions etc
  • Effective verbal and written communication with strong influencing skills
  • Experience in working in an entrepreneurial, market- and innovation-driven environment.
  • Ability to work remotely from other members of the team and stakeholders spread across continents.
