Job Description

The office based department provides expertise in all aspects of substations, overhead lines and cable works on projects in the UK and overseas.

We are looking for experienced civil/structural engineers to join our ever expanding business to undertake roles associated with HV substation projects up to 400kV in the following areas:

* project management
* detailed civil/structural design
* front end engineering design (FEED)
* condition assessment
* design assurance
* preparation of specifications
* proposal writing
* scheme costings

The prospective candidate will be expected to participate in some or all of the above activities. In addition, the role will require the selected candidate to regularly liaise with the client and/or contractor at design reviews/hazid meetings, and attend site in the course of FEED activities.

Candidate Description

It will be preferable, although not essential for the prospective candidate to have previous experience as an Engineer with Transmission and Distribution (T & D) networks, including high voltage substations and overhead lines/cables.

Candidates applying for this role must have at least a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. For those without T & D experience a member of the ICE or IstructE as a chartered or very nearly chartered engineer is essential.

Candidates should also be able to demonstrate good report writing and verbal skills.

Candidates should be prepared to undertake short excursions within the UK and overseas to meet with clients and contractors as required.
