Responsibilities
The placement in the operational area of the business will be required to support managers, engineers, control room operators and field engineers. The candidate will be placed in all four areas of the operations business with their 48 weeks period to attain a full experience as to what working in the operational side of a fast growing business in a developing sector.
 
Performance
  • Evaluate current and new site performance and assist with improvement projects.
  • Investigate alternate technological solutions to bring savings to the business and ensure we remain class leading.
  • Support the central control room team to deliver a continual high level of heat and hot water supply to meet our contractual obligations.
  • Support the performance team to deliver expected revenues for each site as stipulated in the medium term plan (MTP).
  • Develop reports and commission investment proposals (IPs) for plant improvements.
  • Develop new performance monitoring screens to view, trend and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the operations business.
 
Asset Engineering
  • Assist engineering team to develop and implement ISO 55001 process management systems.
  • Support the engineering team to develop and implement engineering improvement projects.
  • Evaluate and report of the engineering performance of plant and equipment where performance is not optimal.
  • Support the team to develop and implement fleet wide support contracts.
  • Assist the asset adoption engineers to bring new ESCo (Energy supply contracts) into the business and gain a wider understand of the construction industry.
 
Maintenance Engineering
  • Support the team to develop and implement site by site maintenance support contracts.
  • Assist the team to develop further our computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Help to develop technologies to allow the field engineers to become more flexible and agile in the way they undertake task and report on outcomes.
  • Investigate ways to develop the teams to become lean in the way they complete tasks and go about their day to day activities.
  • Investigate and develop a proposal to highlight the potential opportunity as to what best in class maintenance delivery would look like and what the road map to deliver that success might look like.
 
Commercial Management
  • Assisting with MTP planning.
  • Assist the team to ensure the business is protecting its revenue - checking customer numbers and commercial agreements (SME customers).
  • Help the team and business to meet our contractual obligations in the way we perform and report.
  • Help the team to develop further our ESCo and O&M propositions.
 
General development
  • Develop leadership and communication skills.
  • Develop relationships and key links throughout the CE business and the wider B2M business.
  • Undertake the full CE induction process and introduction to the business.
  • Undertake safe system of work (SSoW) training to become an authorised engineer. This will assist the safe management of contract resource when working on sites.


Qualifications
Essential
  • The student must be working towards their Bachelor's or Master's degree in the accepted discipline and be entering year three of their qualification as a minimum.
  • Candidates that are offered the role must pass the entrance criteria of the undergraduate program.
  • The candidate must have a primary interest in the renewable and/or low carbon energy business
  • We're looking for people capable of designing and implementing plans that contribute towards the delivery of E.ON's strategy. You'll be someone with a real passion for the energy sector, who has a diverse perspective and who is able to apply a strategic context to their work and goals. In addition to that, you'll need to be on track to achieve a 2:1 Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any subject.
 
Desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence to deliver and present ideas and arguments to senior management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated and to have the ability to be self-driven.

The programme has a duration of 48 weeks.
The role is located at Citigen, London.
