We are looking for skilled specialist who has 8 years of experience within specification, design and development of cooling systems for power industry. You will be part of part of our Power Electronic team, where you for example will drive and lead thermal design in Converter DESIGN projects and make analysis of thermal budgets of main electrical components, air and liquid cooling.

Converter Electrical & High Voltage (CEHV) is a part of Electrical Power & Control (EPC), which again belongs to the Technology & Service Solutions. EPC is responsible for technology and product development of nearly all medium and low voltage electrical components in the turbines: Power electronic converters (both hardware and control SW), Electrical control cabinets, Transformers, Switchgears etc. CEHV is responsible for converter hardware and other medium voltage components. We host highly skilled engineering competencies inside these domains and deliver solutions to a wide range of cross functional portfolio projects like minor product optimizations, next generation turbines and new technology projects.

Responsibilities
As a Specialist, you will be a part of the Power Electronics team and report to the Converter Electrical & High Voltage Manager within Electrical Power & Control.

Your main responsibilities and tasks will be:
  • Drive and lead thermal design in Converter DESIGN projects
  • Drive and lead functional excellence for thermal design and analysis
  • Analysis of thermal budgets of main electrical components , air and liquid cooling
  • Sensitivity analysis of cooling concepts
  • Set targets for how to qualify cooling components
  • Create Design Verification Plans/Procedures and conduct tests for thermal validation
  • Work with peers across interfaces to other systems within wind turbine
  • Review engineering designs
  • Create and keep the overview of quality of relevant thermal products in field
  • You will be coaching and guiding colleagues as well as deliver own contribution to projects

Qualifications
Your qualifications include:
  • BSc/M.Sc. 8 years of specification, design and development of cooling systems for power industry.
  • Basic knowledge of reliability and electrical power.
  • Knowledge of power semiconductor packaging for high power density is advantageous.
  • Detailed knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer.
  • Knowledge with, ANSYS CFD tools and Matlab preferred.
  • Good leadership and communication skills and capable of acting as a motivator.
  • Capable of defining the vision within the field of CFD and driving activities supporting the vision.
  • Excellent problem solving and keen analytical skills combined with the ability to update your own knowledge.
  • Good communication skills in English orally and written.
  • Capable of delivering short term results without losing the long term vision.

Additional information
Your work location will be at Vestas Technology & Service Solutions Headquarter in Aarhus, Denmark. Up to 20 travel days per year can be expected.
