Vestas Celtic Wind Technology is a Sales Unit of Vestas Northern Europe, which is a Sales Business Unit of Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the largest manufacturer of wind turbines in the world and the only global energy company dedicated 100% to wind energy. Vestas Celtic Wind Technology is responsible for sales, project construction, and servicing of wind projects in UK and Ireland. The Sales Manager / Business Development Manager function is anchored in the sales department, but works across multiple functions in an international environment to deliver on Vestas "profitable growth" strategy. We are responsible for sales of high value wind energy projects in a department characterized by a flexible, informal and open work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and be responsible for customers, account strategies, and project capture planning.
  • Focal point for all customer related activities, lead customer dialogue and communications.
  • Deliver on KPI's, including customer satisfaction, sales revenue and margins.
  • In a matrix set-up, lead cross-functional deal teams consisting of engineering, construction, legal, service, and finance professionals; from identification of opportunity to contract negotiation and close of sale and across all tracks of sales activities
  • Analyze customer needs and formulate Vestas value proposition to customers
  • Develop pricing and positioning strategies and help identify and meet customer requirements and ensure consistency across departments in Vestas
  • Attend industry conferences and customer events and provide feedback and information on market developments, customer needs and competitive landscape

Qualifications

  • Master or Bachelor degree in business administration, economics and/or engineering
  • Experienced senior technical professional with at a good level experience, preferably with large infrastructure project transactions
  • Proven track record in managing customers or driving business performance as a key account manager or business development manager, where you have demonstrated ability to handle large accounts and cover all aspects of doing business (sales, contract negotiation, project management, O&M and technical etc.)

  • You work flawlessly with IT tools (MS Office, SAP CRM and project builder etc.

Additional information
The position will be located at Vestas' office in Edinburgh. Travel in the UK and Ireland is expected and some international travel in Northern Europe should also be expected.
