Responsibilities
Purpose of position:
Support the blade engineer in developing quality and operational process in the field on:
  1. blade manufacturing
  2. blade inspection and
  3. blade repairs 
Essential Functions:
  1. Support site blade inspections and repairs (specifications, risk assessment + execution)
  2. Evaluation of inspection reports, prioritizations of repairs and execution with Operations.
  3. Evaluation of repairs performed by contractors.
  4. Support and develop processes and documentation for supplier evaluation (blade inspection and repair companies)
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Occasionally perform blade inspections for severe damages (travel involved).
  2. Assess the criticality of damages together with Engineering and Ops .
  3. Support Blade Specialists on blade projects and root cause analysis of failures and end of warranty claims.
  4. Extract learnings from portfolio into design requirements in parallel to IEC and other technical standards.
  5. Stay up to date with all technological developments- especially inspection, modification, and repair of blades.


Qualifications
Required 4 years of practical experience with blade inspections, blade repair, and manufacturing QA/QC
SUBSTITUTION CLAUSE:  A 2 year or 4 year college degree from an accredited school, other than correspondence or on-line, in a technical hard science (engineering, physics, power, or closely similar) may substitute for 2 years of experience. A wind technician certificate program can substitute for 1 year of experience.

No Expat Arrangement Available. Position is open until filled.
Hazardous conditions include: working at height up to 300', working in confined spaces, exposure to bloodborne pathogens, exposure to energized electrical equipment, exposure to rotating equipment, and working in extreme hot and cold conditions.
The work requires climber pass a fit-for-duty medical examination upon hiring and every 2 years thereafter and maintain a body weight of 270 lbs or less. The work also requires flexibility and full range of movement in confined spaces.
The work may require providing first aid/CPR. This requires maintenance of First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
