* This is a 3 year assignment supporting our client in Allentown, PA


Responsibilities:
  • Implement the HSE strategy and provide leadership in the implementation of the company HSE management systems in accordance with local legislative requirements.
  • Develop and continuously improve the strategic HSE action plans in alignment with corporate HSE management systems.
  • Recruit and allocate necessary HSE resources and direct a team of project HSE professionals.
  • Ensures the project operates within WorleyParsons Corporate, Customer and legislative HSE requirements and expectations.
  • Act as a liaison and provide interpretation of appropriate OH&S legislation as it applies to the Bussiness Unit operations.
  • Assist mutli-disclipinary teams, as required, for high potential or high consequence incidents.
  • Provide guidance on the company incident management protocol inclusive of root cause analysis and identification of preventative measures.
  • Track and report HSE performance metrics inclusive of both leading / lagging indicators and analyse trends on the basis of continuous improvement.
  • Take a leading role in emergency preparedness planning specific to potential emergency scenarios.
  • Take a leading role in the development and implementation of the company occupational risk management processes.
  • Measures and manages HSE program and performance through assessments to achieve targeted business output and improvement levels.
  • Facilitates and manages HSE training and orientation requirements.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge and practical experience in HSE engineering and risk analysis methodology.
  • Stays current with local, provincial and federal legislation and acts as an ambassador for WorleyParsons with clients and in the community.
  • Through contacts and networks within the industry, stays current with trends, changes and improvements in HSE.
  • Administers the company WCB Claims Management process.

Qualifications:
Requirements:
  • Job Specific Knowledge: In depth knowledge of OSHA and HSE Management Systems. Previous HSE management experience in engineering, contractor management, heavy field construction, commissioning and operations in the Power sector (electricity generation ,including nuclear, and power transmission)
  • Experience with High Voltage utility projects
  • Industry Specific Experience: Minimum of 10 years of Health & Safety experience.
  • Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Post Secondary (e.g. College or University level OH&S Program)
  • HSE Capability: HSE professional designation preferred (e.g. CSP).
  • Member of professional association (e.g. American Society of Safety Engineers).
  • IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • People Skills: Effective communicator with strong technical writing and verbal skills, including conflict resolution and leadership skills.
  • Other: Proven experience of leading a multi-discipline team of professionals.

  • The position reports to the Location HSE Director
