We are currently looking for a Civil / Structural Engineer to join the ENERCON Team in Wilmington, DE

The Civil/Structural Engineer is required to work within a multi-discipline team to develop efficient and reliable design of civil/structural components of Substation in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
  • Delivering accurate and thorough designs of a variety of complex structures that will meet industry and/ client standards and codes as applicable.
  • Perform structural engineering quality reviews of peers and / or sub-consultants.
  • Structural design and analysis of anchorage, steel structures and steel connections, using RISA-3D or equivalent, MathCAD, and concrete foundations using industry standard applications or in-house design programs.
  • Performing hand calculations applying proficiency in civil/structural codes and standards such as AISC, ACI, ASCE 113, CBC, IEEE, NESC and others.
  • Performing rigid bus and strain bus system calculations.
  • Creating oil containment system designs.
  • Preparation of construction drawing package.
  • Field engineering and performing structural observations as needed.
  • Quantity estimation for construction bid preparation for Substations
  • Leading Structural Engineering component of project proposals.
  • Project Management for structural components of projects.
  • Maintaining and developing good working relationships with Clients.
  • Monitoring and maintaining project commitments on design projects and coordinating design activities within the different disciplines of the Department.
  • Support the department manager in monitoring structural engineering workload & resource allocation.

As a qualified candidate, you will have the above experience and meet the below requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from accredited program.
  • Minimum 7 years related experience
  • Structural analysis and design using RISA-3D or equivalent, and MathCAD.
  • Analysis and design of Foundations (reinforced concrete), anchorage, structural steel and connections using industry standard applications and/ in-house programs.
  • Proposal development
  • Development of technical project specifications
  • Providing guidance to interns and less experienced engineers
  • Client coordination experience
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD software required.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
