In this role, the Welder will lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as frames for assembly, welding vessels and piping systems, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements. This opening is for 2nd shift.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Welder, you will:
  • Read and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and schematics and is able to work from sketches or verbal instructions
  • Perform free hand MIG and TIG welding
  • Perform TIG welding on Argon purged piping spools and components
  • Perform sanitary welding and fitting of parts
  • Perform complex assembly of machines
  • Perform machining to complete the welding task
  • Assist in developing and building jigs and fixtures
  • Work with and coordinates activities with other job classifications
  • Follow safe work practices and all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures
  • Read and understands shop orders and bill of materials (BOMs)
  • Understand how the tools and materials replenishment system operates
  • Understand the KanBan system
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Facilitator, or Lead


Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of welding experience ( OR an Associate's Degree / vo-tech Degree with focus on welding)
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch
  • Ability to work second shift hours (Monday - Thursday, 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM)

  • Able to learn, understand and implement all policies, practices and procedures

  • Pipe & tubing welding experience
  • Experience operating cranes and hoists
  • Experience with lean manufacturing
  • Able to demonstrate a successful TIG or MIG weld
