Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for an IT Service Lead - EA Enterprise, with HX5, a JETS teammate company.



The IT Service Lead - EA Enterprise's core job is to manage all the enterprise level IT services covering everything from the financial and technical aspects through strategic alignment with set goals. This position reports directly to the Engineering IT Coordination Lead.

The IT Service Lead - EA Enterprise will:
  • Manage current enterprise services including forecasting, budgeting, daily operations, and outreach
    • Networking
    • End user seats
    • Website hosting
    • Server hosting
    • NASA shared services
  • Ensure the integrity of data and IT services provided through enterprise mechanisms
  • Formulate transitional projects to prepare directorate specific IT capabilities for transition to enterprise service implementation
  • Resolve enterprise service issues
    • Service billing
    • Service level agreement disputes/compliance
    • Service provider and service customer technical issue resolution coordination
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, increase capability, or generally support directorate goals through adoption of enterprise IT services
  • Lead division IT Coordinator activities that involve enterprise services
  • Coordinate with various offices to represent engineering interests and positions in regard to service office business practices and strategic direction
  • Manage all enterprise licensing agreements
  • Recommend and coordinate the implementation of IT policies related to the proper use of enterprise IT services
    • End user seat policies
    • Domain and network connectivity policies
    • Web hosting and third party application creation/support
  • Recommend IT architecture changes in line with getting best value from enterprise IT services
  • Work with the Engineering IT Integration Manager to set overall engineering directorate IT strategy
  • Maintain broad knowledge of enterprise IT services available to the directorate through center and agency mechanisms
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Education/Experience/Skills:
  • BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and fourteen (14) years of progressive, relevant experience, or an MS degree in a computer or system science discipline and twelve (12) years of progressive experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a computer or system discipline and seven (7) years of progressive experience. Require demonstrated and recognized technical expertise in specialty areas of engineering system design and analysis.
  • Enterprise level budgeting and budget forecasting experience
  • Prior experience with IT policy formulation and creation
  • Experience with contract negotiations and contract management
  • Enterprise IT architecture experience
  • Proven experience coordinating across various customers, both internal and external, at all levels within an organization

Preferences:
  • Experience with NASA IT systems and processes
  • Significant experience in at least one IT related area like cloud systems, network architecture, datacenter management, software engineering, etc.
  • Ability to create concise presentations for directorate and center senior leadership
  • Problem-resolution and decision-making skills
  • Capable of coordinating multiple projects concurrently
  • Able to prioritize and manage time

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
