ABB is currently developing the IS PMO Organization to consolidate and deliver high quality IS services to ABB business units around the globe and focus more of our attention to innovation and development. Joining the ABB IS PMO Organization, you will have the opportunity to work in a high-paced, international environment, solve complex problems and grow together with the rapidly developing business. For our growing global team, we are currently looking for candidates for the position of Operational IS PMO Specialist to build our Project Management capability.

Tasks:
The core responsibility of Operational IS PMO Specialist is to lead the execution of strategic projects in Group/Division/Business Unit functions at local/multi-national/regional level, using either ABB and/or 3rd party resources, and ensuring that all related activities are executed in accordance with company procedures, project objectives, applicable quality standards, safety requirements, cost and scheduling targets. Additionally, the Operational IS PMO Specialist will ensure IS projects are delivered according to Global IS Project Standards and Methods as well as business value from IS Projects is delivered. You will also oversee IS Project Managers during IS Project execution and manage relationship with key IS Project stakeholders to build positive experience from working with IS Projects and long lasting relationship.

As an Operational IS PMO Specialist, you will:

• Define, with key stakeholders, the scope of work, cost/budget, resources required, time schedule, and detailed work allocation;
• Develop or verify project proposal quality;
• Ensure that IS project has clear goals and objectives defined;
• Ensure business or function key partners for IS projects execution are allocated (e.g. Business PM);
• Ensure that IS project has key resources booked for the project delivery;
• Support project initiation activities (if necessary, run IS Project until IS PM is assigned);
• Ensure that IS project has a best possible setup and selection/configuration of project methodology and project management tools;
• On-board IS Project Manager to the IS Project;
• Effectively organize, monitor and control activities to ensure achievement of planned stage-gates and efficient utilization of available resources. Monitor and control project cost and financials. Identify, contain and reduce risk, and ensure that all opportunities are captured and acted upon. Formalize acceptance of the project and bring all the project elements to a conclusion;
• Ensure successful delivery and meeting IS PM KPIs of IS projects from Operational IS PMO portfolio;
• In case of problems, provide project recovery;
• Ensure IS Project Business Case is setup, monitor and evaluated upon IS Project completion;
• Manage and execute IS Project closing activities (between Gate 6 and Gate 7);
• Ensure projects follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with standard ABB internal directives and procedures;
• Ensure IS project has an efficient governance setup and project is properly governed along its lifetime;
• Conduct necessary Sponsor, Business PM and Steco training in IS Project framework;
• Participate in Project Steco as a mandatory Steco Member advising on IS Project's key decisions, steering and control;
• Ensure quality and adherence to the IS Project Management standards and best practices;
• Support IS Project assessor during IS Project assessments;
• Escalate, if after all actions taken, project is not going to deliver expected business value;
• Collaborate with Global IS Project Assessment Manager in terms of managing project risks at controlled level;
• Serve as the key contact for the project stakeholders, and an escalation point for project issues. Effectively communicate appropriate information to stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding and support;
• Manage right level of sponsor's and Steco engagement throughout the project lifecycle;
• Coach and consult project Sponsor, business PM and Steco about IS Project governance and methodology;
• Act as an escalation point for IS Project Managers;
• Manage relationship with key IS Project stakeholders to build positive experience from working with IS Projects and long lasting relationship;
• Lead the project team allocated to the project, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and/or external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones. Coach, develop and provide feedback regarding those individuals allocated to work on project;
• Proactively build trust and confidence in IS Project through proven track record of successful project deliveries;
• Oversee, coach and mentor IS Project Manager during project lifetime. Set IS Project Manager expectation targets related to IS project success and provide IS Project Manager performance assessment;
• Ensure learning and experience from IS projects contributes to knowledge base;
• Support continues process improvement. Contribute to the Global IS PM methodology and tools development;
• Stay up to date and informed about any change in strategy, and is consulted regarding any incident or other project which has, or might have, a major impact on the project.

Requirements:
• Above 10 years of Project Management experience with increasing complexity;
• Above 2 years of PMO experience;
• Above 5 years of ABB experience in project management;
• PMP Certification from PMI;
• Strong IS Project Methodology and IS Project Governance Model knowledge;
• Knowledge of ABB Gate Model for IS;
• Project financial management and Project Management tools knowledge;
• Knowledge of IS Operating Model (IS Functional Blueprint);
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills;
• Ability to build lasting business relationship, influence and drive changes and achieve required targets;
• Knowledge about project portfolio management, project risk and PPM solutions;
• Knowledge of management and change control procedures.
