The Staff Technical Project Manager will be a highly visible role within the Digital Thread initiative and Digital Engineering. The individual who fills this position will be moving the Digital Engineering Power Generation PLM application into i's next generation. The Project Leader will be working with business and functional leaders, stakeholders, and users to define, guide, and lead projects for the new PowerPLM environment.

Essential Responsibilities

This environment is evolving with emerging technologies utilized for engineering and manufacturing processes that will be right in the middle of the Digital Thread horizontal. The Next Generation PowerPLM environment will be combining data and processes from Gas Power, Steam Power, Aero, ex-Alstom, and the Services organizations, and will be interacting with Commercial, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Services. This will be a challenging role which will allow for visibility to senior leadership, while being a great learning experience in Project Management, Software Testing and Development, and Functional Process leadership. This leader will also gain significant technical expertise in PLM, especially with the Dassault products of Enovia, Catia, Simulia, Delmia, and Exalead.
The candidate for this role should have understanding of IT products, infrastructure, and architecture. Should have experience managing projects with software requirement gathering, development, testing and deployment. Performing these activities utilizing Agile Project Management style is preferred, but other project management methodologies are also acceptable. The candidate should have good communication and people skills to be able to communicate with end users to gather data, and be able to translate the information to technical solutions. The candidate will be performing Project Management for PLM solutions interfacing with both upstream and downstream solutions including ERP and Oracle.
The Staff Technical Project Manager will:

  • Lead in the transformation of the Legacy Power Generation and Alstom PLM environments to the next generation PLM system which is critical to the success of the Digital Thread.
  • Collaborate with functional and technology leaders in designing, implementing and supporting Power Systems PLM Releases. Collaboration would include interaction with users and stakeholders from Gas Power, Steam Power, Generators, Aero, ex-Alstom, and Services.
  • Collaborate with business and functional partners and technology leadership in defining features backlog and specifying requirements
  • Drive technology discussion and strategy in line with business needs and company reference architecture
  • Define execution plan and approach based on project scope, expected timeline and available budget / resources
  • Facilitate convergence of functional and technical
  • Knowledge and build project teams
  • Work with globally located technical team often comprising of members of separate organizations to coordinate day-to-day execution as per outlined plan
  • Cooperate with and manage external vendors as required.
  • Manage procurement and on-boarding process
  • Ensure pre-defined project management processes and practices are followed. Drive simplification and improvement as necessary
  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required
  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project
  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting
  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations
  • Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected




Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or Engineering or 4 years of IT technical experience
  • Minimum 5 years of IT professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Software Development Project Management
