NSW Senior Operations Analyst Job Description:

The Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Operations Analyst (OA) supports the Joint Mission Analysis (JMA) process used to develop NSW force requirements in terms of units and maritime platforms as part of the Command's Strategic Planning Process. This data and analysis are used to determine future operational mission needs and employment parameters for NSW forces, to support USSOCOM's master planning and POM processes, and to support other decisions requiring analysis and assessment. Force requirements and capabilities are generated from illustrious scenarios involving joint SOF. The position involves developing and testing automated tools for data collection, quality control of databases, and generation of analysis products. Familiarity with MS applications is required.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree plus ten (10) years of experience or Master's degree plus eight (8) years of experience or any equivalent combination of experience and education. Six (6) years of experience must be in DOD policy, operations research, special operations, or analysis experience in Naval Special Warfare related fields within Government/industry management experience.

Must have background as a uniformed NSW member with operational NSW experience. Familiarity with Microsoft suite of products to include MS Access desired.

Must be able to obtain TS/SCI Clearance.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Work will be performed inside a large facility. Work assignments vary based on client requirements. Position could require some night and weekend work. Travel may be required based on client requirements.

Physical Requirements

Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.

Equipment and Machines

General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance

Work assignments dependent on requirements by the client. It is important to be able to work at least 8 hours a day for 5 days per week (Monday through Friday).

Candidate must exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military and contractor personnel at all levels. Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Grooming and dress usually business casual, but dependent on client's standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
