About the opportunity

Our current workload within the water engineering business has grown significantly and we are looking to recruit an experienced Civil Engineer. Reporting to the Section Leader Water and Engineering in the Brisbane office, you will work on a wide variety of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, providing technical support in all aspects of civil design. You will be required to use your technical experience in hydraulics, water and/or wastewater infrastructure to support both planning and detailed design projects. As part of the role, you will be involved in large projects, lead small or medium sized projects and be involved with proposals. The role is to focus on supporting the current and forecast pipeline of work in this technical stream including:

  • Applying technical knowledge to solve problems and determine actions
  • Working independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Writing standard and complex technical reports and proposals
  • Managing tasks of a project, or being the project manager of small to medium sized consulting projects
  • Mentoring junior consultants / graduates
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers and regulators


About you

To be considered for this role, you will have demonstrated experience in technical delivery of water infrastructure projects, ideally supporting water utility and mining projects. In addition, you will have/be:

  • A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Experience in potable water, wastewater or irrigation engineering fields, with design experience in pipelines and pump stations preferred
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or working towards accreditation within 12 months from appointment
  • The ability to work well individually and collaboratively within team structures
  • The ability to deliver high quality outputs under tight timeframes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent report writing capabilities
  • Previous experience within consulting industry would be highly regarded
