Position Description:
Saudi Aramco is embarking on a program to develop it's world class unconventional resources and is seeking experienced professionals to join our Unconventional Multidisciplinary Team.

We have an immediate requirement for experienced unconventional drilling engineers who have experience in drilling and completing shale and/or tight gas reservoirs. Of primary interest is experience in maintaining shale integrity while drilling and setting up the construction of the well for effective stimulation.

Minimum Requirements:
The successful candidate will require an appropriate Bachelor's degree in engineering and an advanced degree is preferred and will reduce prerequisite work experience stated below by one year for master degree and two years for PhD.

We are targeting 10 years' experience with at least 2-5 years in unconventional plays including shale or tight gas however we will consider candidates with more or less experienced depending on the quality of their experience. Experience must include land drilling operations and horizontal drilling including unconventional resources.

Software skills: Casing design, hydraulics, directional designs, torque and drag, WellView and MS Office

The successful candidate will have the ability to perform drilling engineering work requiring application of both standard and unconventional techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of engineering tasks.

The candidate will have the responsibility to precisely and accurately design wells for unconventional drilling activities, estimating drilling well costs and AFE generation for company operated exploratory, appraisal, pilot and development activities.

The candidate will gain experience in providing technical assistance to drilling operations staff to ensure that each well is completed in a safe, efficient manner. They will be expected to formulate new standards and formulate best practices for unconventional activities to achieve optimum drilling performance while lowering costs in the safest and most environmentally friendly manner.

Additionally the candidate will have the responsibility and authority to stop unsafe work by employees or contractors. The ability to work on a multidisciplinary team is a key asset.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:

Performs drilling engineering work requiring application of standard and unconventional techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of engineering tasks

Required to prepare estimated drilling well costs and AFE generation for company operated exploratory, developmental and remedial drilling activities

Precise and accurate well designs and drilling programs for unconventional drilling activities

Provide technical assistance to drilling operations staff to ensure that each well is completed in a safe, efficient manner

Develop new standards for well drilling and completion for unconventional reservoirs

Determine and provide best practices to achieve optimum drilling performance

Has the responsibility and authority to stop unsafe work by employees or contractors
