Role synopsis
- The Logistics Manager in China PTA, reports to the Commercial Director, Aromatics Asia. The logistics Manager will provides commercial insight, and supervise logistics provider performance, accountable for Logistics HSSE, road and shipping activities.
- Work close with sales team to provide supporting for customer delivery route, logistics cost, customer service performance.
- The logistic Manager will be in charge of export shipping suppliers appointment and will work with the GO and exporting team to support the sales plan.
- Be responsible for packaging cost(bags), continue to identify opportunity to improve the bag design and reduce bag cost.
- This role will be a LT member of Aromatics Asia commercial team.

Key accountabilities
- Develop Logistics strategy/tactics for achieving safe operation, cost effectiveness and management for China PTA.
- Responsible for all logistics related services for China PTA, including:
  • Developing and recommending the long term logistics strategy, including assessing the logistics capability of China PTA and making recommendations for improvement; and leading the optimizations of logistics pipeline/network.
  • Leading the commercial discussion of all PTA logistics contracts (incl. warehousing, trucking, port).
  • Providing input to BP Shipping in freight rate negotiation and contract terms.
  • Supporting the Global Optimization Team for cross regional PTA movements by optimizing/improving PTA loading and shipping capabilities.
  • Supporting the Strategic Sourcing, Global Optimization and IST Singapore teams as appropriate e.g. Logistics input, sharing market information, commercial linkage to term counterparties.
  • Establishing/optimizing performance targets and KPIs to monitor the performance delivery of all logistics providers.
  • Ensure that proper communication and internal controls are in place for all the purchases and delivery.
  • Ensure that all the related commercial/procurement activities and deliverables accord with logistics operation and HSSE requirements, applicable Legislation & Regulation and BP Group Standards/ processes, strategic objectives, and financial controls.

- To manage packing cost find opportunity to reduce the packing cost, and support packing team to improve the bag quality as well:
  • Developing and recommending the long team packing strategy include bag materials and bag design, to benchmark with competitors to review the bag cost and design try to optimize and improve the cost competitive of packing.
  • To join the bidding process with procumbent team to support to get competitive price in packing materials and packing service as well.
  • To work with packaging team to optimize the bag design and quality management.
- Develop and manage an annual operating expense budget. On monthly basis, evaluate third party spend and performance for optimization opportunities on sourcing and new approaches.
- Drive for HSSE performance and OMS compliance:
  • To manage all service providers to be safety champion and achieve all safety performance indexes in logistics activities.
  • To actively lead & participate in HSSE review.
  • To strictly follow MOC and actively participate/lead risk assessment
  • To actively share learning of any potential HSE issues within the team, BP network, & with service providers.
  • Lead accident investigation, logistics related audits and inspections.
  • Ensure crisis management and emergency planning.
- Strive for any opportunities for improvement and optimization base on his/her knowledge, experience and lessons learned.
- Lead logistics projects as required by new delivery mode to customers to optimize the supply chain
- Leading the logistic team (around 3 team member). Ensure and develop the require skill of the team and accountable for the performance of the whole team

Essential Education
University degree or above with major in logistics, chemical, accounting / economics / business related majors will be well regarded

Essential experience and job requirements
Experience (years and nature)
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in Logistic management
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in logistics sourcing
- Understand Supply chain process and operation
- Preferred in knowledge of Aromatics business, supply experience, and with a good understanding of procurement, supply chain, or other commercial roles
- Ability to make difficult decisions, and deal with potential conflicts of interest, and challenge senior management.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills, for both internal as well as external relationships.
