Progressing Cavity Pump Rotor and Stator manufacturing,  a division of Weatherford ® ,  that is located in Edmonton, is looking to fill the following position: Temporary CNC Operator.
While adhering to standard safety and quality operational policies and procedures, the primary functions of the CNC Operator are:
 
  • Operate CNC primarily lathes, secondarily, milling machines and hand tools/other related machinery 
  • Read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents to process the component into a finished piece
  • Monitor the running condition of machinery; read measuring instruments; respond to all computer error messages
  • Inform supervisor/manager of problems and operational concerns that arise; participate in trouble shooting and problem resolution; accurately completes reporting as required
  • Be available to work a rotating shift of 8 hours in length, necessitating the candidate to work independently once fully trained
  • Actively participate in company safety procedures and programs:  correct unsafe work practices or situations; follow reporting protocols for violations; participate in the Hazard Identification process
  • 100% participation in identified workplace Personal Protective Equipment requirements
  • Fully participate in continuous process improvement, cost control and on time delivery, following quality policies and procedures and standards to maintain within company guidelines
  • Perform other duties as required, including clean-up duties and the accurate and timely completion of paperwork
 
QUALIFICATIONS

Education :
  • Minimum Grade XII education; equivalency considered
  Knowledge/Experience:
  • previous 3 years' experience operating CNC machinery (lathe and mill), primarily horizontal lathe  
  • excellence level in using micrometer and other measuring equipment
  • previous experience in a production/manufacturing machining environment
  • manual labor work experience is required  
  • the oil and gas industry experience is an asset
