Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
  • Visit Client companies to ascertain feedback on current work undertaken on their behalf, develop satisfactory resolutions to problems which may have arisen, and discuss and plan future work requirements which Weatherford could develop - and thus foster good relations with Client companies and develop further business.
  • In addition to the above, while visiting with a Client, update them on Weatherford products and services, and identify and discuss any future work requirements which Weatherford could develop into additional business opportunities.
  • When invited to tender for products and services by a Client, arrange follow up visit with the company in order to fully ascertain their requirements and develop the basis for Weatherford's response to the invitation to tender.
  • Maintain contact with operations department (Including workshop & Support Services) to ensure that client's equipment & operational requirements are understood by all and that the products and services can be provided.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the customer's requirements are identified, this information will be captured on our Statement of Requirement document ( SOR ) it is the responsibility of the Sales Engineer to complete this documentation for every job & to discuss the requirements with the operations supervisor. The SOR is the linking document between the Customer & Operations. It is also the function of the Sales Engineer to communicate and update any changes to the SOR when well parameters or objectives change.
  • Assist TCG in preparation of technical proposals and ensuring that technical proposals meet client requirements.
  • It is the responsibility of the Sales Engineer to liaise with the customer and close out any NCRs between the Customers. In doing so he/she will liaise internally with the Weatherford Country Manager & where applicable the Operations Manager & QHSE Manager to determine the root cause and identify preventative steps preventing repetition.
  • Maintain regular contact across the various departments of Weatherford - for example when developing the tender documentation, the job holder will need to discuss requirements with Operations personnel in order to ensure that the products and services can be provided, and will arrange for the final documents to be scrutinized by QHSE, Finance, etc. in order to ensure that all non-technical areas of the tender have been fully covered.
  • Occasionally the jobholder may be required to make a visit to Client company work site in order to scope out the requirements of the job, or provide appropriate advice to Weatherford Operations personnel when running a particular range of equipment.
  • Promotes WFT Product and Service line equipment and offers technical support to operations personnel.
  • Interfaces between customer, PLM and engineering on new product requirements as needed.
  • Conducts sales presentations, product related training programs and customer seminars.
  • Acts as a market input source to product line management for new and existing product opportunities.
  • Acts as a liaison between engineering, product line management and the overall sales organization.
  • Provides technical support for the regional sales organization to enable them to present currently technology in a direct selling effort.
  • Acts as a liaison between engineering and field personnel (Country Manager/ Operations Manager & QHSE Manager) as related to existing products and technology.
  • Works within an established geographical area to generate new business and increase revenues while fostering good relations for continued business with established customers.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the customer's requirements are identified, thereby monitoring that this information is recorded in the Statement of Requirement document (SOR). 
  • Assists in tenders' processes through periodic visits to clients to fully ascertain their requirements and develop the basis for Weatherford's response to the invitation to tender.
  • Trains Local Staff.
  • Monitors and reports drilling and work over rig activity.
  • Maintains contact with operations department (Including workshop & Support Services) to ensure that client's equipment & operational requirements are understood by all and confirm that the products and services can be provided.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Safety and the Environment.
  • Apply Weatherford's, and where appropriate Client Company's, Health, Safety & Environment Policy and Safety Management Systems.
  • Ensure all Commercial processes are processed through TPMS to maximize efficiency of pricing & tendering
  • Required to work on a 24 hours call basis.
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Must understand and comply with quality, safety, and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Follow WFT Compliance policies
  • Performs various other duties assigned by superiors within the physical constrains of the job

  • Required Education:
    • Diploma or higher in commercial or business qualification
    Must have completed tertiary education in a Technical subject.

Required Experience:
  • Must possess from 3 to 5 years relevant experience in Liner oilfield operations ideally which should have been in a marketing and/or service support capacity.
  • Must have demonstrated a good knowledge of Rig Systems and Production/Drilling Operations, and a full understanding of Down-hole Hydraulics, along with a full understanding of tube movement.
