Basic Function:
 
Material Handler has to work towards improving Weatherford's Inventory management, by a thorough understanding of internal & external processes, requirements and patterns. Reviews and processes day to day operations, evaluates and recommends equipment needs. Assists Supply Chain Manager to maintain a cost effective balance between customer service and inventory/asset investments.
Coordinates a perpetual inventory record of material, supplies and other general stock items.
 
Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
  • Ensure Weatherford's Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental fully implemented and sustained across all areas of responsibility.
Adhere to Safety procedure and policies in accordance with safety management system ,  Including:
  • Active participation and contribution to specific safety initiatives in meetings.
  • Report all hazardous and unsafe acts.
  • Actively promote positive safety culture.
 
Adhere to quality procedure and policies in accordance with the ISO9002 (where applicable) quality assurance system, Including:
  • Compliance to work instructions.
  • Raising corrective actions for all non-conformances.
  • Identifying areas requiring improvement and / or audit.
 
Main Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for accuracy for all inventories under the responsibility and proper accountability in BP 10249 & 135383, record keeping and placement. It will be the prime duty of all the members of inventory team to ensure that the physical stock of WFT inventory agrees with the books.
  • Understand Weatherford Inventory Control Policy.
  • Understand the basic principles and operations of Weatherford ERP systems.
  • Demonstrate ability to use the relevant ERP modules to manage functional areas.
  • Help implement departmental inventory management strategies and objectives.
  • Support setting up an effective inventory control department. .
  • Understand the different classes of inventory, including raw materials; work in process; finished goods; maintenance, repair, and operating supplies; service parts; damaged and obsolete.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of calculating inventory carrying costs,
  • Effectively manage surplus and obsolete inventories.
  • Effectively calculate inventory required to restock products or parts with inventory models including visual review, two-bin system, periodic review, min-max, order point and time-phased order point.
  • Effectively calculate safety stock for independent demand items.
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy through various techniques including inventory audits, annual physical inventory, and cycle counting.
  • Provides accurate, current inventory data for purchasing decisions.
  • Maintains inventories at optimum levels to prevent under-or-over investment in inventory.
  • Prepares reports of inventory balance, shortages, as required.
  • Shipment Loading and Offloading.
 
  • Verifying incoming shipments, forwarding receipts to procurement and ensure material receipts are updated in JDE.
 
  • Supervises and coordinates the taking of periodic physical inventories.
  • Any special tasks assigned by supervisor.
Required Skills:
  • Must have knowledge and experience on how to manage the inventory functions.
  • Must able to carry out different tasks of different nature and able to submit 5-6 reports on different factors.
  • Warehouse Inventory control supervisor by nature is a multi-tasking job, individuals who apply for this job must be dynamic and quick in making decisions.
  • Data reporting and finding out problems in the data and solving it is the major job responsibility that a warehouse Inventory control supervisor has to do on a daily basis.
  • Excellent customer and employee interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially English.
  • Excellent knowledge about inventory management processes and procedures
  • Enterprise Resource Planning system knowledge
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment
  • Forklift Operations.
  • Willingness to learn new skills
Required Education:
  • Graduate
  • Computer Literate, must have computer knowledge of JD Edwards & and should have excellent knowledge in working with Microsoft Excel to work and get results from complex data.
  • Required Experience:
  • Individual should have at least 3-5 years of experience of management.
