We are now looking for a Ports and Coastal Manager for our In-house role to be based in UAE.

Position : Permanent

Location : Dubai, UAE

Primary objective:

· To manage the technical and financial delivery of a wide range of Port and Coastal projects, ensuring technical quality, coordination, integrity, cost effectiveness and profitability of designs and studies produced.
· Business development and preparing proposals to help maintain and then grow the work load within the Dubai Coastal group.

Specific accountabilities:

· Responsible for the successful delivery of port and coastal modelling and designs projects, including technical reports, written calculations, design briefs, drawings, schedules, contract documentation and the like.
· Technically supervise, guide and review the work undertaken by the Coastal Group, including:
- Port Master Planning;
- Marina and coastal developments;
- Numerical modelling;
- Navigation simulations;
- Mooring analysis;
- Dredging and land reclamation;
- Structural design of coastal structures, including preparation of specifications and reports.
· Preparation of technical and financial proposals.
· Assist with business development.
· Work successfully with other members of the design and management team.
· Prepare and adhere to assigned budgets and schedules, integrate team efforts, review work, set priorities, identify and resolve issues in a timely manner and communicate status to lead engineers.
· Compliance with QA, Safety and Environmental goals.
· Mentoring team members to develop individual capabilities and strengthen the capabilities of the Group as a whole to enhance the reputation of WorleyParsons in the field of Ports and Coastal work.
· Coordinate and work share with other Coastal groups within WorleyParsons.


Qualifications:
Essential skills and experience
• A Bachelors Degree.
• Fluent in English.
• Minimum 20 years broad ports and coastal experience.
• Extensive experience in the design and planning of a wide range of ports and coastal projects.
• Sound knowledge of British, European and International standards specifically related to ports and coastal work.
• Appreciation of the specific issues (e.g. durability) related to the use of structural elements in a marine environment.
• Hands on experience of a range of numerical modelling techniques dealing with tides, waves, currents, sediment transport, etc.
• Experience in the design of rock structures such as breakwaters, groynes and revetments.
• Experience in the preparation of technical and financial proposals.
• Ability to develop, agree and manage design production schedules and manage a technical team.

Preference will be given to candidates with:
• Post-graduate qualifications specifically related to marine or coastal engineering.
• Chartered Status.
• Working in the Middle East.
• Ability to undertake and manage Fast-time navigation simulations.
• Experience supervising Physical Modelling.
• Involvement in coastal aspects of Environmental Impact Assessments.
• Familiarity with intake/outfall modelling.
• Dredging and land reclamations experience.
• Experience in business development.
