Purpose

Advisian’s Environment & Water Group team has a reputation for its strength in delivering and consulting solutions to from environmental impact assessments, planning approvals and water resources solutions across infrastructure, mining, private and public projects. It has achieved this by providing the industry with expertise and leadership on a regional and international platform.
This opportunity to join our team as a Civil Engineer, Water Resources means an opportunity for you to contribute to the further growth and success of Advisian’s future. In this role of you will provide expert flood modelling and water resources solutions and advice to a range of clients and stakeholders within the energy, infrastructure and mining industries.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver discipline specific water resources engineering and consulting services that meet Advisian’s, its clients and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to best practice engineering and investigation skills within the team to solve open channel flow problems, develop floodplain management solutions and conceptually design river engineering works including the design of bank stabilisation systems and hydraulic structures.
  • Provide hydrologic analysis and modelling.
  • Provide flood modelling solutions using 2D and 1D software, including TUFLOW and HEC-RAS.
  • Contribute to investigation reports and investigation advice, including flood studies, flood impact assessments and floodplain management studies.
  • Participate in dealings with Customers and professionally and confidently interact with public stakeholders on floodplain management issues.
  • Establish and maintain adherence to project deliverables with respect to Safety, Quality, Cost & Schedule;
  • Practice and promote our OneWay vision and our zero harm to our people and the environment initiatives to all stakeholders and colleagues around us.



Qualifications:
What you will bring
  • Technical and practical expertise in flood modelling using TUFLOW.
  • A recognised Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, focused on water resources engineering including hydrology and floodplain management.
  • Experience in undertaking hydrology and open channel flow hydraulics projects, including the use of hydrological models such as RORB, RAFTS and WBNM and hydraulic software such as RMA-2, MIKE Flood, TUFLOW and HEC-RAS
  • Experience with contributing to the team in investigation and resolution of hydraulic engineering problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with internal and external clients at senior levels to implement and execute successful business strategies.
  • Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information to a broad range of stakeholders.
