We are currently sourcing a Global Subsector Lead / Business Manager for Polymers to operate internationally including business travel and to be based in the Manchester Office.

The successful candidate will have an impressive track record in both the delivery of high value, complex polymer projects and operating or commissioning polymer production facilities. The candidate will also have a strong technology background in most unit operations associated with the polymer industries.

The key responsibilities will be:
  • Build a global network of key people operating within the polymer subsector across Business Lines
  • Collaborate with location and sector leaders to pursue, win and execute work and to strategically build polymer subsector capability. Ensure collaboration and communication across all Business Lines
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the regional sub sector strategies (including consideration of key partners and acquisition targets)
  • Joint responsibility for delivery – marshalling key resources and supporting quality delivery
  • Lead the global development of the polymer subsector
  • Identify and mentor key talent. Support recruitment, career development, succession planning and diversity objectives
  • Assist with the development of the global external marketing collateral
  • Coordinating and encouraging Thought Leadership in the sub sector
  • To capture / develop / spread the entrained technical knowledge of the company via our Knowledge & Networks program
  • To assist with the development of the external accessible market forecast and maintain the global Subsector CRMT entries
  • To drive the representation of the company in industry technical forum (e.g. major conferences, technical paper generation and presentation)
  • Maintain engagement with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the polymer subsector to ensure they are used to the greatest effect across all Business Lines

Qualifications:
What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience
• Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Chartered or working towards
• Direct safety &risk experience in the Polymer industry including project delivery and FEED/Detail design experience
• Excellent technical communication and co-ordination skills.
• Excellent commercial skills

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Required:
• A recognized and relevant engineering degree.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering; management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
