Job Description
Senior Software Application Engineer

Siemens Digital Grid SWS division is looking for a highly dependable and highly skilled senior level Software Application Engineer

Specific duties include - design, develop and troubleshoot complex software systems related to Energy Management Systems (EMS), Market Management Systems (MMS), and Distribution Management Systems (DMS), recommend solutions, perform enhancements, provide technical support, and implement modifications associated with applications.
Specific Responsibilities
• Active in all phases of system development; planning and analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment
• Be able to understand complex business requirements that must be addressed by the software
• Be able to do a detailed design for software enhancements and provide reasonably close estimates of efforts
• Be able to develop, test, troubleshoot and deploy the software
• Provide customer support as needed
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures for area of responsibility
• Investigate and fix defects in both the pre and post release phases
• Follow and contribute to develop team standards and utilize industry best practices

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software/computer engineering or related field and a combination of work experience
• Excellent programming skills with C, C++, JAVA, PERL, SQL, PL/SQL
• Excellent Analysis and debugging skills of software programs
• Experience with standard software development practices such as agile software development
• Practical knowledge of Operating Systems functionality (Windows, Linux)
• Practical knowledge of Computer Networks and Inter process Communications
• Ability to troubleshoot/resolve complex software issues
• Ability to travel up to 10% of time
• Ability to work independently
