The IT Project Manager will work with the Power Services Sourcing teams to understand data and reporting needs, determine how the data will be used, help identify process opportunities, work with global development teams to generate reports and in some cases build out reports/visualizations. In this role you will work directly with the Sourcing and various IT teams across GE Power and Digital to develop plans to provide insights through reports, building data models.

Essential Responsibilities

The IT Project Manager will:
  • Develop powerful visualizations in Tableau to meet business needs
  • Work directly with the Sourcing teams to build out dashboard prototypes to validate data needs
  • Work with cross functional teams to develop data models that are scalable to multiple domains inside of the Sourcing function and across the Power business
  • Lead the Services Sourcing BI Council to capture, prioritize and build out project plans around reporting needs
  • Create a strategy for how to best consolidate and make data easy to find/use for the Sourcing community
  • Build project and program schedules to meet business needs
  • Serve as the solution delivery expert for the design and implementation of BI projects
  • Create, own, and maintain standard processes which can be followed and shared across the organization
  • Work closely with other BI program leaders to ensure that we're not duplicating efforts and are sharing best practices






Qualifications/Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • 5 years of more progressive responsibility and experience as an engineer or scientist
  • 4 years experience in project leadership within a manufacturing, development or research environment, including previous leadership of a global and/or virtual team
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with different programming languages with SQL
  • Experience building visualizations in tools such as Tableau, SpotFire or other industry standard tools
  • Experience working with global development teams
  • Certified Scrum Master or experience working with Agile processes
  • Ability to estimate effort, timelines, and build program roadmaps
  • Experience developing user stories, building storyboards and UX/UI design
  • Ability to create and understand data models
  • Sourcing and/or Supply Chain Experience
  • Ability to influence others and lead global teams
  • Creative mindset that is always looking for new ways to satisfy demands of customers
  • Has a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
  • Experience identify, communicating and driving business change
  • Possess a passion to solve complex problems that have secondary affects to other functions
  • Strong data analysis, oral, and written skills
  • IMLP / ITLP or graduate from similar program (GE Internal Only)
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Atlanta, GA, US
