Position Description
Unconventional Resources (UR) is expanding rapidly to meet the local demands, and achieving them cost effectively and safely. UR is growing into seven departments/ divisions, where the UR Operations department/division is a key to meet the UR goals.

The UR Operations is responsible to operate all the surface facilities, which include the field wells and processing facilities where their role will be to operate the well manifolds, provide field services, maintain the facility and reduce the equipment downtime, perform the preventive maintenance activities, and provide maintenance services in addition to providing all the technical engineering and inspection activities. The hiring is required to meet the significant increase in the operation activity level where by the end of 2017, it is estimated to have more than 270 km of pipelines, 520 km of flow lines and five processing facilities scattered in different geographical locations.

Saudi Aramco's UR is looking to appoint a Pipeline Engineer to participate in the design review, follow the construction and lead the commissioning and testing activities for the new shale gas facilities. The candidate will have a thorough understanding of plant operations, process technologies, supply and product logistics, business drivers, cost drivers, and feedstock sensitivities. In addition, he will have a detailed understanding of product properties, customer applications and requirements.

The Pipeline Engineer must also demonstrate the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams producing reports, studies and presentations that are pivotal in shaping management's decisions.

Minimum Requirements
We are seeking a candidate with at least 15 years of experience in multiphase and gas pipelines who has a good knowledge of fiscal metering systems.
A working knowledge of industry codes and standards is required, such as ASME and API.

The post holder will require experience with :-

Various types of pigging operations and be able to interpret intelligent pigging reports.

Experience with pipeline and piping field installation, commissioning and testing and be familiar with various pipeline coating systems. He will be experienced in the configuration, troubleshooting and calibration of instrument flow measurements and also understand flows in depth the fundamentals, accuracy, limitations and applications of primary flow measurements including but not limited to ultrasonic meters, orifices, turbine meters, crude oil provers.

Experience of working with gas chromatographs, analyzers, oil samplers for royalty applications with sound technical background to improve the accuracy of gas and crude oil measurements.

Understand metering control systems including programmable logic controllers (PLC), supervisory systems and basic PC fundamentals.

Proven ability to communicate effectively with management at all levels within the organization. Capable of spotting and reconciling conflicting views and interests among different parts of the organization.

Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to communicate what are frequently complex technical, economic and commercial concepts in a clear and succinct manner to individuals and groups from diverse professional backgrounds.

Provide technical mentoring to newly assigned engineers, draft job appraisals, recommend merit increases and promotions, and handle routine personnel functions.

Hands-on person who will immediately command the professional respect of others who possess long-time practical experience of working in or serving the industry. Person whom others, at all levels, will seek out for advice and counsel.

Able to work effectively with the minimum of supervision on relatively unstructured tasks.

Education
Bachelor Degree in Engineering. A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Pipeline Engineer will be required to perform the following:

Develop and manage pipeline and flowline integrity management system
Produce pipeline hydraulic calculations, stress calculations, material specifications and make recommendations for technical/economic optimization of existing facilities.

Maintenance of pipeline protection system, and management of pipeline corrosion inhibition systems.

Manage pipeline pigging operations for flow assurance, corrosion prevention and integrity monitoring.

Provide day-to-day technical support to the Operation and Maintenance groups to troubleshoot and fix any encounter systems problems.

Review the engineering design packages for the new installation and upgrade projects.

Review project proposals and detailed design packages for new facilities.

Participate on the testing and commissioning of the new pipeline and flowlines.

Develop pipeline repair plans and procedures

Update and maintain engineering documentation and drawings.

Report and analyze key performance indices.

Contribute to Business Unit strategy.

Assist in the training, development and mentoring of younger staff.

Provide analysis, evaluation and interpretation in support of projects, processes, and financing related to Saudi Aramco capital investment decisions.

Maintain and expand on contacts within the industry.

Regularly interact with other professionals in various company organizations involved in capital planning and economic analysis.
