JACOBS is one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical and management services. We offer a full-spectrum of consultancy support to commercial, government and industrial clients across many sectors.

Jacobs has an enviable reputation in the UK consultancy sector as a result of a portfolio of high profile projects. Within our Ireland and UK Transport Consultancy Business we have an opportunity for an experienced Technical Director to help grow and develop our business in Ireland. The candidate would join a Transport Consultancy business of 300 people which was enhanced in 2013 by our integration with SKM Colin Buchanan and more recently in 2016 with Leigh Fisher.

Our business model is based around securing and developing long term relationships and frameworks with our predominately public sector client base, which at a national level includes the NTA; delivering planning, appraisal, modelling and design services across three separate framework commissions. As an example we are currently completing a Regional Modelling System, which includes 5 state of the art multi-modal demand models centred on 5 key cities in Ireland. We also support a considerable number of projects for Transport Infrastructure Ireland through our Highways team in Dublin. These projects generally include economic appraisal and impact assessments for the feasibility through to delivery of major projects. In the UK we successfully deliver projects on behalf of the Department for Transport, Transport Scotland, and Highways England.

The completion of the modelling system in Ireland is opening a number of opportunities at a Local Government level, and therefore we are keen to expand in this area. As an example we are supporting a number of projects including the delivery of the Clonburris and Poolbeg Strategic Development Zones for South Dublin and Dublin City Councils respectively. In the UK our client base is extensive and expanding and currently includes long term framework agreements, for example with Birmingham City Council, Transport for London, Transport for Greater Manchester, City of Edinburgh and The Moray Council.

We are also assisting clients in the University sector to tackle transportation challenges and are increasing our profile and workload with key private sector clients in various sectors including commercial, residential, industrial and transport sectors. We are currently completing transport assessments and mobility planning to support planning applications for a number of pharmaceutical and multi-national technology companies.

The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.
