Job responsibilities and activities may include:

Planning -- Oversee resource planning and scheduling activities: Lead and coordinate efforts of other planners, provide recommendations to management on team workload balance, identification of priorities, and participate in the performance feedback process.  Prepare and review business unit resource plans, forecasts, and periodic updates, including analysis.  Proactively identify data anomalies and work to resolve.
Engage project, program, finance and marketing managers to determine resource needs for current and future business, further supporting and providing input to the fiscal planning cycle.

Process -- Establish necessary procedures and programs for data gathering, monitoring, and reporting on status and progress of staffing forecasts, preparation and release of data and reports required business or department.  Use standard reporting and control techniques where applicable and develop control methods to be used as a standard.  Lead development of operational procedures, interpretation to management and employees for appropriate course of action. Assume leadership role in the implementation of use and adherence to procedures.

Reporting -- Prepare, support and deliver presentations on business unit resource forecasts and analysis.  Prepare and review business unit resource plans, forecasts, periodic updates, and special reporting requests to meet business unit needs, such as fiscal planning. 

Data Administration --  Monitor and update resource planning tool and data administration updates to ensure planning and reporting remains aligned organizational structure and changing business needs.

Analysis -- Monitor staff usage, and financial cost comparing and reporting the outcome of projection against results providing recommendations for action.  Develop analytical observations from data and make recommendations. Analyze trends of deviation from plans and recommend actions and mitigation plans. Obtain, develop and incorporate business plan baseline information needed to ensure complete, comprehensive resource planning and reporting with business relevant of variance analysis.

Training -- Lead development and collaboration activities to produce and maintain training materials, including training
delivery methods and events to achieve business user comprehension of resource planning function, value and
use of tools, process, and reporting. 

Improvement  -- Identify process and system improvements. Solicit value added improvement input from process owners and key stakeholders. Then lead the development and value proposition evaluation, planning, and implementation.  Develop and monitor resource utilization and cost improvement identification and tracking mechanisms.

Relation Mgmnt -- Promote and influence full participation of business unit project office and resource management personnel in
the development and periodic updates of planning and forecast data.  Serve as primary interface for specific business unit in resource planning, analyzing and reporting.  Serve as
support resource for other business unit for similar responsibilities.
Work closely with all levels of management to gain a deep understanding of the respective business, planning needs and business drivers to ensure integrity and relevance in resource planning function.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business or operations management, or related discipline required. MBA preferred.
Minimum 4 years of experience required, typically 10+ years preferred.

communicate trends, variances, risks and relevant resource planning business metrics.

Working knowledge of SAP and project management tools such as Primavera or MS-Project. Expert ability to consolidate, synthesize, and analyze great amounts of data from several different sources and organizations identifying trends, variances, and risks.
