Mission

Phone Technical Support Technician is responsible for supporting technical requests related to documentation, troubleshooting, parts identification and continuous improvement projects. They will need to be able to understand and work with advanced diagnostic tooling provided by engineering to deploy to the field. This position requires the ability to utilize tooling being developed and cross train for field understanding

Main Functions

  • Responsible for Technical troubleshooting support for down machines
  • Responsible for creation of documentation related to troubleshooting and diagnostics for field use
  • Support in field training programs as needed
  • Provide reports and failure analysis related to issues worked on for escalation and continuous improvement projects
  • Be able to communicate and understand safe work environments so field personnel doing the work are always comfortable with the work they are performing
  • Embrace the company's vision, mission, values and culture; demonstrate those values in daily job performance of duties (excellence, continuous improvement, health and safety, adherence to protocol and procedures).
  • Establish and maintain highly effective relationships with customers and internal partners (Environmental, Health & Safety, Quality, Business Excellence Unit, Services Engineering, Warehouse, etc.).
  • Collaborate with other department members and other departments to discover needs and deliver better tools for improving the efficiency of the turbines and the workforce.
  • The ability to multitask and organize multiple GWORKS cases
  • Proficient in understanding electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Ability to understand proprietary information and discuss only approved process to clients and field personnel
  • Ability for 30% travel to support wind farms and projects
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

2-3 years of University Studies in Engineering - Technical Studies

Other Knowledge

  • Advanced skills in converter systems such as ABB, and Ingeteam systems
  • Ability to display results or analysis in concise, meaningful presentation formats
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, co-workers and clients
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to produce reports and documentation that can support wind farm tasks
  • Ability to utilize turbine specific documentation and lead remote support requests
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop action plans for addressing the same in an efficient and cost effective manner
  • Ability to work independently and collectively with groups
  • Advanced skills in PLC systems
