Technical Sales Management EMEA-Central Department
The Technical Sales Management team secures that products and services offered out of the Vestas portfolio are aligned with customer and markets needs from a technical perspective, providing the best business case opportunity for the customer and for Vestas. We also act as a communication link between R&D related functions and the market.

In everything we do we have a commercial and customer oriented approach. The Central Europe (CEU) Technical Sales team main objective is to ensure appropriate technical oversight and risk assessment for CEU, including their activities across the Central European region and South Africa. The Wind and Site team is, within that team, responsible to secure we select the best possible turbine configuration (including siting, turbine type, hub height, operational conditions and OPEX / CAPEX trade-offs) in coordination with the respective Technical Bid Engineer, to secure our products are considered to be the best possible offer by the customer and provide a good business returns for Vestas.

The Wind and Site (W&S) team is currently comprised of nine professionals sitting in three different locations across Europe. Interaction with internal (Sales, Business Development, Service, Construction) and external customers and stakeholders is of paramount importance to best understand the needs of our customers and the markets their markets. To remain competitive, Wind & Site must constantly strive to optimize every single opportunity, understanding the risks we are facing and its consequences, and proposing a Vestas offering that paves the way for a cleaner and more sustainable world by better usage of our current and future products.

Key Responsibilities
You will be part of a Tech Sales Management Team in CEU, responsible for the technical support for one of the highest performing Sales Business Units (SBU's) in Vestas. You will be assigned your own specific areas of responsibility with key tasks and deliverables such as:
  • Management, coordination and development of the W&S engineers in CEU
  • Review and approval of their reports, securing the best quality and timely deliveries
  • Definition and achievement (along with the rest of the management team in CEU) of the relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to asses and improve the performance of the team
  • Represent and secure visibility of CEU needs in terms of W&S tools and support within the central Plant Siting and Forecasting Department, in a creative and challenging way that secures Vestas siting capabilities are perceived, externally and externally, as best practice in the industry
  • Assignation of tasks and priorities, once agreed with Tech Sales and Sales, to your direct reports. To ensure an on-time, high quality delivery
  • Participation in projects reviews and Technical Review Committee (TRC) meetings
  • Participation in customer and third party meetings to understand and influence decisions, and present and explain Vestas offerings where required
  • Analyze and provide best offers for power curve and noise warranties

Work experience, qualifications and competencies
  • You hold a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science - either in Engineering or a similar field, or relevant technical experience in the wind sector that enables you to understand the technical levers of the W&S function
  • Preferably you have some years of experience with the wind industry, and also in managing and developing highly qualified employees, in a dynamic and changing environment with aggressive targets and high visibility within the leadership team
  • Proven performance in this field is mandatory
  • Understanding of Vestas' product portfolio, business model, business drivers of both Vestas and the final customer and the complete Vestas value chain are advantages for the position we look for, and as such we aim for an internal candidates as a preferred solution
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to function in a global company. No fear of challenging others and being challenged, in a respectful and cooperative way, to colleagues, employees, and peers. A natural curiosity and willingness to improve results are key aspects for success in this position
  • Must have the ability to empower the team while remaining fully accountable for overall team performance and results
  • Fluent English - oral and written is mandatory. Other languages in the CEU region are highly valuable
  • You need to be a team player and an excellent networker who appreciates working with many stakeholders in a dynamic and demanding organization
  • You must have the ability to justify your technical proposals while keeping a commercial mindset
  • You are expected to be pro-active, self-driven with a bias towards results
  • You are motivated by taking your knowledge about wind power plants and turning it into profitable offerings that deliver attractive value for our customers and profitable growth for Vestas
