Position Summary

  • Support P&ID development; help maintain the P&ID's through the course of each project phase
  • Support development of the Instrument Index, I/O List, and all design deliverables
  • Support development of material / labor TIC cost estimates
  • Support development of engineering / design effort hour estimates
  • Perform field investigation to solidify and develop project scope of work
  • Support incorporation of control systems content into mechanical equipment vendor packages
  • Coordinate with process engineers to obtain process data for use in specifying tagged field instruments
  • Coordinate with HVC workshare office to ensure work packages are being prepared in compliance with home office requirements
  • Provide technical direction for as well as perform selection of instrumentation to be specified or purchased, ensure compliance with client requirements and standards, check specifications, data sheets and requisition packages prepared by others
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, data sheets and requisition packages for inquiry and purchase
  • Prepare technical bid evaluations and make recommendations for purchase
  • Interface with suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Review vendor data to assure specifications and project requirements are met
  • Prioritize, manage, and produce deliverables on multiple fast-track maintenance, revamp and turnaround projects while located on-site
  • Interface with operations, client SME and client standards to produce projects meeting owner expectations

  • BS or MS in engineering discipline; PE License desirable
  • Understanding of SIS philosophies and experience on SIS related projects is desirable
  • Active ISA S84 SFS or TUV FSE Certification is desirable
  • 8+ years of experience on small to mid-sized capital projects, from project inception to completion of design phase, preferably in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, and/or polymer plants.
  • Active TWIC Card is required
  • Experience working on-site at client facility
  • Experience supporting field construction activities, troubleshooting and loop checking activities as well as supporting unit turnaround events
  • Current knowledge of EPC work processes, cost control, scheduling and administrative practices as well as familiarity with the various project phases and the scope/deliverables required for each
  • Sound knowledge of the application, specification and installation of tagged field instruments
  • Thorough understanding of P&ID symbology and presentation techniques and ability to mark-up P&IDs to correctly present work scope
  • Experience in Honeywell DCS HPM and Experion. Programming experience and training on Honeywell Experion system is desirable.
  • Understanding of and experience with specification and selection of process analyzers and analyzer systems
  • Sound knowledge of the use and application of Smart Plant (Intools)
  • Experience in inspection and testing of instrumentation items
  • Experience in instrument installation requirements
  • Experience in engineering and/or construction work process
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
