Position Summary

Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our established practice and we have a need for a new Quality Control / Inspector to join our team in our Nashville, TN office. This person will lead a team in which data is collected on daily basis. Condition assessment of existing infrastructure assets is the primary focus of the task at hand. Knowledge of construction methods and workmanship of water and sewer infrastructure in accordance with plans and specifications is key. Perform work related to construction field activities such as construction observation, design data collection and construction record-keeping. Employee at this level performs work independently on assignments; however, all significant issues are coordinated with the supervisor.

• Observe and inspect ongoing construction work.
• Review plans and specifications to ensure that work is in compliance with plans and specifications.
• Review contractor payment applications for actual work completed.
• Maintain a daily activity report of work in progress and status of completion and discusses construction related problems with supervisor.
• Oversee testing of installed pipelines.
• Maintain a record of changes made during construction.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; at least 5 years of experience in construction of or construction inspection for water and sewer projects is preferred
• Required to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to move up to 50 pounds is required
• Ability to effectively follow instructions; deal effectively with contractors and public required.
• Ability to read and interpret water and sewer pipeline construction plans and specifications required.
• Some knowledge of construction including materials, methods, plans and specifications; traffic control; and associated safety requirements required.
• Perform calculations using algebra, trigonometry and geometry required.
• Able and willing to work day or night shifts and/or flexible schedules including weekends as required to support the project requirements.
• Work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.
• Personal computers and applicable programs.
