Jacobs Engineering is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to assume a key role in the Company's Corporate Accounting Team.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the preparation financial statement footnote disclosures in compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements

• Preparation of sections of the quarterly SEC Forms 10-Q and 8-K (earnings release) and annual Form 10-K in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements

• Ability to account for the Company's equity compensation plans and making associated SEC filings

• Review financial disclosures in the annual report, proxy and other related filings

• Drive process improvement and identify opportunities for cost savings

• Participate in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for financial reporting activities, and their continuous improvement process including automation and acceleration

• Participate in cross functional projects and assist other functions with financial reporting and disclosure matters

• Prepare monthly closing journal entries and account reconciliations

• Prepare, prepaid amortization schedules and monthly amortization journal entries

• Create accounting schedules such as rent, depreciation/amortization, and department expenditures

• Prepares ad hoc reports and analyses, as requested

• All duties performed are in compliance with GAAP, Company policies and procedures, SEC reporting requirements, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements

• Responsible for reading, understanding, and following the applicable process narratives pertaining to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements

• Provide support as needed to external auditors
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience accounting for the Company's equity compensation plans and making associated SEC filings required
  • Exposure to consolidations, currency translation, and international accounting and reporting issues required
  • Experience reviewing financial disclosures in the annual report, proxy and other related filings required
  • Experience driving process improvement and identifing opportunities for cost savings required
  • Experience participating in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for financialreporting activities,and their continuous improvement process including automation and acceleration
  • Participate in cross functional projects and assist other functions with financial reporting and disclosure matters
  • Prepare monthly closing journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepare, prepaid amortization schedules and monthly amortization journal entries
  • Create accounting schedules such as rent, depreciation/amortization, and department expenditures
  • Prepares ad hoc reports and analyses, as requested
  • Experience with a large ERP system required, Oracle preferred
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management
  • Ability to collaborate with others
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience in a commercial business environment
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and external auditors
  • Ability to work in a fast, dynamic environment, and prioritize competing priorities
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and controls
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills
