Jacobs Technology's TEIMS group is a premier provider of process-based systems and software engineering products and services. We focus on innovative solutions for our customers at the Department of Defense (DOD) and other Government organizations.

Jacobs Technology is seeking an Applications Developer (Java) with Security Plus (or other acceptable Air Force security certification), to serve as a core member of an engineering team that designs and develops software applications for the GSA Alliant SAF/FMP (AFFSO) eFinance, LeaveWeb, and FMSuite support contract at Wright Patterson, AFB.

Responsibilities include:

-Write code and conduct code reviews and testing.

-Evaluate requirements and work with SAF/FMP (AFFSO) and peer developers as required to ensure functional and technical requirements are described.

-Debug and correct errors in computer programs .

Create/update software related documentation.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline with one to two (1-2) years' specific work experience.
  • Associate's degree in a related technical discipline with two (2+) years' specific work experience.
  • High School diploma required and six (6) years specific work experience.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Software engineering principles, methods, and approaches.

Should also have ability to:
  • Design, write, test, debug, and maintain software applications that meet technical and functional requirements;
  • Design and develop efficient and effective applications through optimal use of reusable components;
  • Ensure that applications comply with regulatory requirements;
  • Ensure applications are consistent with the current and planned infrastructure and data environments.
  • A working knowledge of computer programming with direct experience with Java, SQL Server and HTML.

Essential Functions

Work Environment:

Work involves an inside office environment/cubicle. (Considerations: closed quarters, close together, limited lighting) Must be able to commute between buildings to support work requirements. Independent transportation necessary to support work requirements and to arrive at work site. No hazards on job site or any unusual environmental condition exists.

Physical Requirements:

Working at a computer or desk (Considerations: sitting, eyes, hands). May involve long periods of sitting or standing.

Equipment and Machines:

Personal computer (75%), scanner (5%), copy machine (5%), telephone (5%), laser printer (5%), fax
machine (2%), and other office equipment including desk supplies.

Full-time regular work hours between Monday-Friday(excluding Saturday & Sunday). Position may require occasional weekend work depending on task requirements. Regular attendance is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings.

Other Essential Functions:

1) Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills.
2) Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives.
3) Government Secret security clearance (or the ability to obtain one) is required.
4) Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary.
