GE Field Engineers are a vital link providing power to the world. They lead the installation,
maintenance and start up of a broad range of equipment. This work - cutting edge state-of-the-art
technologies and services - provides for the crucial infrastructure to the world's power generation
network.As a Field Engineer Electrical you will represent GE both technically and professionally to ensure
that equipment is installed, maintained and started properly.

Essential Responsibilities

•Provide technical direction to a team of technicians and craft labor for the installation,
commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of generator excitation & protection, and
auxiliary equipment including Breakers, MCC's, transformers and motors GE /Non-GE.
•Provide leadership in the resolution of Generator excitation, control and protection and associated
plant troubleshooting through interfacing with our engineering department.
•Preparation of outage reports, providing an overview of the technical findings, corrective actions
and maintenance recommendations
•Provide leadership in on-site safety and quality systems
•Promote customer image of GE's products and services and how these can support their
availability and reliability needs.
•Support the business growth requirement by driving customer satisfaction through delivery of top
quality service.


•BS/BA degree or equivalent experience (University degree - electrical engineering)
•Good command of oral and written English and Greek.
•A depth of relevant experience in electric power industry
•Power plant or field service experience preferred
•Familiarity with electrical testing such as Current Injection, HV, LV, meggar , resistance and
acceptance testing
•Experienced in Excitation systems on GE and/or Non-GE Generators would be an advantage.
•Work efficiently without direct supervision, consistently demonstrating high levels of performance
•Ready to work continuously at customer facilities, site and to travel extensively
•Environmental, health & safety mindset and compliance
•Excellent computer skills

Desired Characteristics

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred
• Strong business acumen and ability to sell GE products to the customer
• Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
• Strong customer service mindset
• Prior field engineering experience is preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Prior project management experience is preferred
• FEP program graduate is preferred (internal GE employees only)
• Strong project management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Languages : All European languages would be appreciated, in particular
German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Romanian. Greek, Turk, and Pakistan languages if living in
those countries.
