The role of the Piping & Support engineer is as follows:
1) Supports Lead Engineer Piping in their project activities;
2) Ensures that he is always up to date for the available new technologies and the current codes and standards.
3) Compliance with the Quality and EHS rules from the project, business, sector and corporate within the own area of responsibility;

Essential Responsibilities

The Piping & Support Engineer has the technical and time schedule responsibility to create (mainly 3D model) and supply (drawings or reports) to different Customers (internal or external) the arrangement information as assigned by the Lead Engineer Piping.
• Ensure that the design of his Engineering function is according to the applicable rules, regulations codes and standards and according to good engineering practice especially with regard to Environmental aspects and Health & Safety of Site Personal, Operators, Maintenance personnel and third parties;
• Concept and Plot Plan Development for special consideration of contractual, process-technical as well as local and legal requirements;
• Integrating Client's operational and maintenance experiences into conceptual design;
• Optimizing Plant Design by integrating Civil/ Steel requirement as well as information from mechanical;
• Set-up and Maintenance of PDMS 3D Model in all stages of a project (concept through Study Phase up to DE);
• Performs pipe studies for complex systems in close co-operation with support and stress engineer;
• Comply with the forecast dates for information & drawings submission. Provide information to prepare the flat-file to follow-up the piping design progress upon request by L.E.;
• Checking all existing piping, detail and isometric drawings on dimensions, routing, process (PI&D's) requirements, operation, maintenance and clashers, on the basis of the "Standard Checking Procedure";
• Estimate preliminary loads to release early the civil & steel structures detail design;
• Estimate the Piping MTO;
• Check & comment external documents (Partners, Sub Contractors, ...) and manage & check the interface data (type, dimensions, location, ...);
• Participate to or assume the follow-up of piping detail subcontracted studies;
• Inform Lead Engineer Piping of any difficulties regarding adaptation of manpower according to the needs;
• React to any missing information;
• Manage the team in charge of the engineering scope of supply and/or services assigned to him;
• React to any site requirements and assume the necessary tasks to operate the NCR processing. Input the as-recorded information inside the tools and drawings;
• Analyze of client's comments and prepare answers duly argued;
• Participate to the design review and the design freeze;
• Ensure experience feedback from the project. Help to solve the closeout of the punch item list to obtain PAC and FAC and to organize archive of final documentation;
• Takes over Area Lead function during DE / EPC Execution


• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or University.

Desired Characteristics

• At least 2 - 3 years of experience in Piping/ Plant Design for Petrochemical, Oil and Gas Industry and good knowledge appropriate to the technical activity involved, including interface clarification beyond this activity;
• Worked an important role on min. two projects from start to end and min. 3 month site experience
• Good skills in the use of computer applications and computer tools (Microsoft Office, Access, AutoCAD);
• PDMS experience;
• Is fluent in English (written and spoken) and able to lead negotiations in English;
• Has a good knowledge of Engineering, Design and Project Management tools and methods;
• Has shown the ability to plan, organize and co-ordinate well, to delegate and supervise accordingly;
• Communicates well, enjoys personal contact;

• Steadiness in performance, the ability to stand up well under stress, ability to stand his ground, self-motivation, learning capability, openness to innovations, flexibility, self-criticism
