The oOEM (other Original Equipment Manufacturer) Turbine Blade Repair Development Engineer will be responsible for identifying, developing, industrializing, and globalizing the inspection and repair process for TURBINE BLADE components of non-GE gas turbines. In this role, the engineer will lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business regarding TURBINE BLADE repair quality, cost, and cycle.

Essential Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

As the oOEM Turbine Blade Repair Development Engineer, you will:
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Lead the team strategy to ensure the repair development of all the assigned TURBINE BLADE Hardware
  • Collaborate strongly with the global Repair Development Centers to ensure all required processes are completed and meet all technical requirements.
  • Work with several Service Centers located in different parts of the world, to ensure a good transition into repair production
  • Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, ATO, and systems engineering
  • Communicate progress to all levels of the organization
  • Perform Risk analysis for repair or part replacement
  • Collaborate with Customers and Commercial teams to develop business opportunities and customer proposals
  • Collaborate with other GE organizations to review customer specifications and ensure offering satisfies requirements and identify exceptions and/or clarifications
  • Identify risk areas and address technical issues inherent with repairing non-GE gas turbines components
  • Promote and contribute to business programs (cost reduction, continuous improvement, workouts, etc.)
  • Communicate fleet & product issues to leadership, engineering teams, commercial teams, and product line leaders


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Material Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes like Welding, Coating, Machining, etc.
  • Strong understanding of gas turbines and it's HGP components
  • Knowledge of and/or prior experience in Repair development or New-make manufacturing
  • Experience working directly with gas turbine customers
  • Experience defining technical programs and design & development of new products and uprates
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of involving and influencing all levels of GE and customer organizations
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, coaching expertise and success working across internal business functions
  • Experience in Designing HGP Components for non-GE gas turbines
  • Self-starter with energy and positive attitude and legacy of delivering on commitments in a fast paced dynamics environment

  • Strong technical aptitude, including a solid understanding engineering tools and systems
