Seeking an experienced legal practitioner with transactional and project management expertise with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements related to renewable energy transactions and purchase and sale agreements related to acquisition and divestiture transactions. This position will provide legal support to NextEra's Wind Development and M&A teams with respect to complex commercial transactions. Applicant will be a team player with a demonstrated commercial acumen who relates well with clients, management and counterparties.

  • Participates in complex legal matters, projects, and manages commercial transactions.
  • Provides written and oral legal advice to clients.
  • Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization.
  • Delivers timely and quality legal services to clients with minimal supervision.
  • Works to ensure budget compliance.
  • Displaces outside counsel.
  • Ensures disclosure of material legal issues to General Counsel.
  • Significant budgetary responsibility; limited supervisory responsibility.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, Juris Doctor and five (5) or more years of relevant legal experience is required.
  • Seven (7) or more years as a dedicated commercial transactional attorney and five (5) or more years in the energy industry is preferred.
  • Must be member in good standing of state bar and be eligible for Florida in-house counsel certificate.
