Department Overview

Corporate Security Department at PG&E is responsible for ensuring the Safety and Security of the enterprise. The department provides services for Physical Security Operations, Enterprise Investigations, Communication Operations and Risk Management across the organization.
Security functions are led by PG&E's Vice President - Chief Information Security Officer and Sr. Director of Corporate Security. This position reports to the Manager of Communications Security Operations.

Position Summary

Communications Security Supervisor oversees contract Security personnel for PG&E's Security Communications Center. The position will oversee shift responsibility, and will manage contract security operators. The Communications Supervisor will oversee monitoring of multiple security systems and security alarms at PG&E. The Communications Supervisor will be a part of the Security Communications Center which operates in a 911 environment. Communications Center is key to the safety and security of PG&E personnel and property. The Communications Supervisor will also provide expertise to the operations of the Communications Center, including aspects of NERC compliance.



At least five years of experience working with security control systems and security personnel, including security or law enforcement dispatch center operations.
Willing to work in 24/7 operations with a potential to be operating in different shifts.
Education: High School Diploma
California Driver's License
Must be able to qualify for NERC/CIP clearance
Work Location: Fairfield, CA

CISSP and or CISM/CISA or other relevant certification, or ability to obtain via self-study within one year of date of hire

• Directly supervise PG&E Contract Security Control Operators who serve as shift leaders to contract security operators during a 24 hour per day operation. This includes providing coaching, career mentoring and tracking employee progress through the performance management process.
• Oversee monitoring and operation of the access control, burglary and CCTV systems.
• Review and modify FSCC post orders as necessary.
• Train operators, ensuring personnel adherence to policy and procedure.
• Coordinate and schedule training for all FSCC personnel (employee and contract).
• Implement and oversee FSCC processes and procedures.
• Communicate security network outages to upper management that may affect security monitoring and operations.
• Handle emergency and non-emergency security-related calls for assistance & resolution.
• Assist with communication on field security officer request.
• Work with Line of Business contacts on resolving access issues and concerns within policy.
• Ensure unauthorized entries/attempts to enter PG&E facilities are detected by FSCC.
• Ensure field security officer personnel, site contacts and or law enforcement personnel are contacted as appropriate and within policy.
• Monitor functionality of security systems reporting to FSCC and ensure malfunctions are reported and corrected in a timely manner.
• Perform review of background and training requirements of all NERC access requests for Communications Operators.
• Support physical improvements to FSCC, including anticipated relocation.
• Supervise alarm response management
• Work with Security IT as it relates to vendor maintenance and repair tickets. This includes tracking of dispatching of service calls. Supervise System functionality of emergency notification system for incident management.
• Work with Security IT on new installations, sites, repairs as it relates to testing of alarms within the Communications Center.
• Directly supervise security operators at CSD Security control centers.
