Department Overview

The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

Position Summary

Oversees the safe and continued daily operations of the Electric Field
Equipment Repair Shop. Plans and meets annual production plans. Ensures
the facility is in compliance with all applicable regulations. Manages
processes and relationships with business partner and key stakeholder.
Develops and implements the Strategic Operating Plans.


Minimum Qualifications ---------------------------
High School or GED.

*5 years total related experience
*Experiencd with electrical equipment repair and maintenance.
*Previous leadership experience.

*Electrician experience.
*Experience with tracking and spreadsheets for operational

*Knowledge of the IBEW or ESC contracts and workforce planning &
*Knowledge of environmental regulations, logistics, process flow
and process management.
*Knowledge of PG&E's new business, maintenance, and emergency
response operations.
*Excellent leaderships and people management skills.
*Excellent communication and presentation skills.
*Good computer skills. Understanding of repair tracking systems.


*Supervises day to day operations and work of repair facitly team.
Adjusts work and production schedules to accommodate changing business
needs. Monitors and ensures compliance with environmental requirments.
Achieves operational targets, financial goals, analyzes variances, and
communicates/executes on facility work plans and results. Ensures
maintenance operations are executed as required.
*Manages repairable inventory consistent with business partner
demands and financial best practices.
*Regularly works directly with the the Repair Tracking System (RTS).
*Ensures team follows all repair facility safety and compliance
programs. Monitors and initiates corrective actions needed to address
potential non-compliance issues. Provides direction to Corporate Real
Estate and Environmental Services representatives regarding safety.
Communicates frequently with employees regarding accident prevention and
safe behaviors. Monitors trends, hazards, incidents and near hits, and
takes corrective actions working closely with peers and manager.
*May be assigned to oversee the process of retiring " Oil Filled
Equipment" and the documentation needed to be in compliance. Adheres to
environmental requirments to properly document and dispose of hazardous
waste material.
*May be assigned to lead the in shop or field electrical equipment
repair. Accesses maintenance tags and decisions on repair or replacment
of units. Uses the Material Problem Report (MPR) which tracks all issues
with equipment including Warranty/Claims issues.
*May oversee ground shop fabrication in a remote repair shop.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
*Direct reports typically include bargaining unit jobs such as
Traveling Electricians, Traveling Utility Worker, Filter Man and Electric Shop Lead or Testers
*Monitor employee development and performance in accordance to
Bargaining Unit Contracts.
