Department Overview

PG&E's Transportation Services team is responsible for operating and managing one of the largest commercial fleets in the U.S. PG&E has pioneered efficient and sustainable green transportation technologies as part of our commitment to provide safe, reliable and affordable gas and electric service. PG&E's industry leading green fleet includes a range of electric vehicle technologies-from hybrid electric bucket trucks to extended range pickups. Transportation Services is nationally recognized as a leader in green fleet technology.

Transportation & Aviation Services department is responsible for managing all aspects of PG&E's vehicles & equipment fleet, from design to disposition. The team is comprised multiple operating departments including Engineering, Field Operations, Aircraft & Helicopter Operations, DOT, Business Application Support and Strategy.
Transportation & Aviation Services is responsible for company-wide management of over 14,000 vehicles & equipment, regulatory compliance, capital planning, clean air and alternate fuel initiatives, project support, fleet systems administration and client facing reporting/analysis.

Position Summary

Fleet Information System team is responsible for the administration and compliance of all fleet information systems and applications. This includes, but not limited to auditing, training, specification writing, troubleshooting technical issues, testing and obtaining user acceptance, and developing and implementing enterprise-wide applications and business processes within Transportation Services and PG&E.

- High School diploma or GED
- 3 years demonstrated enterprise-wide information systems and technical support experience


- Bachelor of Science in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Strong SQL Server and QMF experience desired
- Data extraction and informational collection (e.g. SQL Query and report writing) skills
- In-depth understanding of SAP and system analysis experience
- Knowledge and experience with Asset Works Fleet Anywhere (FA) system
- Data extraction and informational collection (e.g. SQL Query and report writing) skills
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree
- Lean certification or LSS Green Belt
- Technical resolution and troubleshooting skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver findings and recommendations to various levels of management
- Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
- Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio or similar software


- Leads troubleshoot and address enterprise-wide systems and application issues.
- Resolves enterprise-wide escalated issues related to all fleet information systems and applications.
- May develops and/or review policies, procedures, processes, and specifications for enterprise/system-wide process improvement.
- Provides data analysis and ad hoc reporting for all fleet information systems and applications.
- May develop training content/materials and conducts training.
- Researches and prepares technical reports and memos for the evaluation, design and development of computing applications and
- Plans, coordinates and administers SQL Server database batches, files, and reports including base definition, structure, documentation, long range requirements, operational guidelines and protection.
- Establishes, maintains, and ensures the accuracy, completeness, integrity, and control of data.
- Coordinates with IT to research the best methods and practices for disaster recovery.
- Develops system application specifications, creates end-to-end system and user testing scripts, obtain user acceptance, training aides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Composes and updates specifications, codes, tables, cluster indexes, and fields.
- Develops and implements the Fleet Anywhere (FA) system user manuals and operational administration guides and trains users on application usage.
- Investigates and resolves processing issues identified by clients and Transportation Services.
- Monitors and evaluates system performance, researches new technologies, and coordinates the implementation of application processes.
