Department Overview

PG&E's Customer Energy Solutions department (CES) is responsible for designing, implementing and administering customer demand side management programs, including energy efficiency, distributed generation, demand response, and rate programs that help PG&E customers in Northern and Central California manage the energy use of their homes and businesses. The Electrification and Alternative Fuels group develops and implements customer programs related to electric vehicles, compressed natural gas (CNG) powered vehicles, and hydrogen vehicles.

Position Summary

The Electrification and Alternative Fuels (E&AF) team is looking for a product management generalist with experience in business strategy, product design, marketing, finance, and regulatory affairs. The Product Management Senior Analyst will primarily be responsible for leading and managing certain aspects of PG&E's Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) program for its electric vehicle and CNG vehicle customers. Specific areas of responsibility will include refining the business and product strategy, developing policy and regulatory positions related to LCFS, and ensuring successful implementation of the processes related to LCFS credit generation, LCFS credit sales, and revenue return to customers.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in product management with experience operating in a regulated environment under the jurisdiction of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Identifying and collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to formulate ideas, develop well-reasoned solutions, and resolve issues will be essential to the position. The candidate will have excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills while demonstrating knowledge of and attention to details. Importantly, the candidate will have a track record of taking ideas from concept to fruition while demonstrating the ability to overcome obstacles in a collaborative, constructive manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Marketing or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required
• Minimum 6 years of experience to include any combination of product management responsibility demonstrating strong contributions in business planning, product development, marketing development, and process implementation

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience leading cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills are required - i.e. the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in written documents
• Master's degree in business administration, engineering, or related discipline (counts as 1 year of experience)
• Extremely strong analytic skills and the ability to grasp and solve complex problems
• Demonstrated experience improving processes
• Experience developing policy and regulatory filings at the CPUC, CARB, or CEC
• Experience implementing CARB LCFS regulations
• Ability to effectively represent PG&E externally
• Detail oriented with excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
• Interest, willingness, and aptitude to learn new subjects and to become a subject matter expert (SME)
• Dedication to delivering the highest quality of work


• Lead implementation of various aspects of the LCFS program
• Manage development and implementation of the marketing plan for returning LCFS revenue to customers
• Oversee development and implementation of the IT systems required for returning LCFS revenue to customers
• Ensure successful implementation of electricity and CNG LCFS rebates to customers
• Develop and articulate policy positions related to LCFS in various public and regulatory environments
