Position Summary

The Environmental Engineer will perform aspects of engineering and design functions and support environmental investigation and remediation projects, including all phases of planning, data analysis as well as reporting, oversight and data management. Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis within the discipline. Develop designs that require innovation and ingenuity. Work performed with minimal supervision; has considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

  • Provide senior level facility environmental engineering expertise to ensure compliance with federal and state specific environmental laws and regulations through the life cycle of this program, a mega project (planning, design, construction, transition to operations, deployment and operations & maintenance).
  • Support meetings and forums as directed by project team.
  • Perform environmental technical reviews of construction documents (plans, specifications and design analysis) developed during the design of this program to ensure compliance with required Unified Facilities Criteria, the Client's programming requirements and are within prescribed budget.
  • Environmental Engineer interface with US Army Corps of Engineers - the design and construction agent for the Client.
  • Monitor progress and generally facilitate progress and completion of tasks related to the design and construction of this program.

  • Must have demonstrated experience (10 years minimum) in the area of Environmental Engineering related to federal planning, programming, design and construction.
  • Must be familiar with the latest trends and state-of-the-art technologies pertaining to environmental engineering practices in facility design, construction, renovations, space management, construction delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Early Contractor Involvement, etc.) and knowledge management to ensure that major capital development projects meet the owner's current and future requirements.
  • Must have experience (10 years minimum) in inspecting quality and adherence to specifications of both construction documents (plans, specifications and design analysis) and work in place on large (over $50M) federal construction projects.
  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited program is required
  • Professional engineer license is required (can be issued from any U.S. state).
  • US Citizenship is required
  • TS+ Clearance is required
  • Certifications related to energy conservation and project management such as Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) and Project Management Professional (PMP), or their military equivalent, are desired.
