Jacobs Technology, Inc., Systems Lifecycle Group (SLG) is a premier provider of process-based systems and software engineering products and services. We focus on innovative solutions for our customers at the Department of Defense (DOD) and other Government organizations.

Jacobs/SLG is seeking a Records Management Specialist to support the group's functional teams (Accounting, Finance, HR, Contract, etc.). The primary responsibility of this position is to support the various functional groups by electronically scanning documents for records retention purposes. May also assist with file organization and creation, and records shredding.

Though not all inclusive, responsibilities will include the following:
  • Prepares all records for electronic scanning.
  • Ensures filing accuracy of records prior to scanning.
  • Electronically scans records, and organizes them using a consistent naming convention.
  • Reviews scanned documents to ensure they are legible.
  • Once scanned, prepares all records for storage or shredding.
  • May assist with file creation and/or shredding of documents.
  • Provides additional administrative support to other functions pending supervisor approval.
Education: High school diploma preferred.

  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Some familiarity with computers, preferred
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, preferred

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:

Light - work usually requires standing to a significant degree. Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently to move objects. Exposed to computer monitors, copy machine, and constant wrist movement. Operates typical office equipment such as fax machine, copiers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment:

Must embrace Beyond Zero/Safety principles of Jacobs to include; adhering to safe work practices and standards while performing daily tasks, taking responsibility for own and coworkers' safekeeping and encouraging others to work safely.

Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

Must perform work activities requiring interaction, negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others.

Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor.


With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

Must be able to work within the shift hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
